  • need help adding the last 1 or 2 weights to cape

ok.... I decided to just break down and bust ass to FINALLY have a cape on a character...everything flows smoothly, and everything is set in the right places with very minor clipping.... but... there are a few things that I need someone who is more experienced with setting weights to help me with.. if anyone is willing to help, let me know and I'll either P.M you with the .dat, or I'll post it and maybe we can finally have a working cape up for download for the community after what seems like forever...heres some pics to show that it DOES in fact flow quite realistically...I just need help on the last few finishing touches.

as in theres about 2 or 3 skeletal weights that just wont work exact for some reason...everything else is perfect but those last 2 or 3 weight points.... the ponts are OKAY....but its one of those nagging problem type things. it works on MOST animations but....the part that pops out in this pic...I cant get those weights to move with the rest of the cape, they just kinda.....move on their own sometimes....

            Would help, but

            A) I only know of HF/EM weights from memory. I can create capes for HF/EM in minutes (No, don't bother me, get someone else who is a active modder).
            B) The only thing I do is face/hair/gui mods nowadays.
            C) Mod once every two weeks.
            D) Lazyness.

Someone else will help you, I guarantee it . Oh and one can easily put the cape on other armor themselves. Its real easy since x person has the cape finished. Really don't need to know anything advanced with meta/vrs for that in my opinion unless you are trying to put the cape on another race.

Hyades update ur damn site.....no offence but all the links for DL are dead...at least fix those if you have no plans to do any more updates on the mods themselves....there is a TON Of the HF mods ide love to use but cant DL them...and if u have no plans to update the site release a dat file pack. Im sure im not the only one that wants to be able to use some of your old mods.

Which skeleton's are those ones set too? seems to be like the upper torso skeletons but almost like they are set as 1.0000 to a single skeleton. At the point they are at seems almost like they'd be 0.5 to two skeletons.

Might get it close, but it's very difficult to get the capes movement as you'd want without a proper skeleton created for it.

thats the problem I'm having... i dont know what weights to set them at....its either too much or not enough..its getting on my nerves....if anyone can get this working then by all means.....oh, and also...capes dont work too well with a weapon on your back lol..just saw that as I checked the file...anyways here it is for someone who can fix the parts that dont move exactly how they should....I think theres only about 2 or 3 points.

Can fix the weapon and cape not working right, just need to find the skeleton that is for the weapons on the back and adjust it's motion. Move it a little further away and it should be fine.

Which movement were you doing that showed those errors? I can import that motion then and fix the problem on a step-by-step motion view. Like I'll keep saying though cape won't flow completly true unless a skeleton is created for it. Unfortunatly haven't found a way to add to the skeleton.

                      EDIT:

NM, on the fix with the motion to back items. Just realized what a pain that would be to fix the motion files. If they are the same skeleton for 1h swords, then fixing the motion wouldn't work. Would end up having to be moving the mesh right to place if futher back. Even then still causes problems.

no no ...I didnt mean that its broken because of the back items....look up a few posts, and look at the drg that is thrusting the polearm...thats the movement i mainly saw...I think there may be a few others that will look bad because of that also...I dont care about it looking perfect with weapons on the back...thats a FFXI issue, not an issue with the .dat see how the cape pokes out when he thrusts? thats what I need fixed...and if you see any other motions that look like crap, if you wouldnt mind checking my weights please...its my first time actually setting any weights so...while I think it came out ok...theres probably a few things I might have overlooked.
