  • need help, texture problem

    ok, you all saw my gunblade mod i assume.

    well, it's supposed to look like this

    and in modelviewer it does. It looks perfect until it's used in game.
    Then it looks like the attached image.

    I need help with this, please please please. I just can't find a way to map the handle. i used the hexagun to make it, and so the texture map for the hexagun is what i need. but how do i do it?

          That's been a problem I've been running into with quite a few of the .dats... It's a little annoying that they look fine everywere else but when I get try in the game it just screws up badly.

          It looks right in Metasequoia, Graphic Converter, Model Viewer, and VRS but doesn't come out that way in the game.

          Be intresting to hear how to fix that.

            the thing i've noticed is that when items are merged in VRS, only the original model that's having stuff added to it has a UV map. Until i found this problem in game, i ignored it, because in every other program it looked fine.

              It's happened to me without even merging items, just altering in VRS. What are you talking about only the original model having a UV map? As far as I've seen it looks like it all does.

                what i find happens when i export my combined models into meta, is that only one of the textures has a UV map. And it's normally the first model i have up in vrs.

                In the case of my gunblade, the blade has a UV map, and displays correctly, however, the hexagun, which i used to make the bullet chamber and handle, doesn't. And displays out of wack.

                  hmm i dont really know how to fix that i havent made my own mod recently so i havent gotten to see whats wrong sorry im not much of a help i can try to take a look into it

                      Could you post an image of what you are talking about with only the original having a UV mapping??? I'm not seeing this when I create stuff in VRS. Only thing I do see is certain objects seem to have something extra in them that make them unusable in VRS.

                      I've tried a few models and just about any slight alteration to those certain ones make it to look like the UV Mapping is all messed up when you try to use it in the game. An example of one of many I messed around with have been 1-5-60 (Opo-Opo) which you can't alter without it messing up, yet 1-5-61 (Another Opo-Opo) you can with no problems.

                      Then also there is 1-3-92 (Hume Female Child) which won't even load in VRS it crashes out. However you can copy 1-3-93 over 1-3-92 and in game it looks fine, but once you try to remove the extra objects like the katana then it messes up in the game looking like the UV mapping was lost. Yet that model works fine in Modelviewer, VRS, Metasequioa...

                      What's odd with the 1-3-92 (Hume Female Child) one you can call up by using Hume Rice Cakes when you alter anything (Add or Remove) the added items UV Mapping also messes up, but what's odd is the texture that's mapped on the model is not the same one you see in Metasequoia, VRS, or Modelviewer. The messed up graphic image some reason has a red ribbon on the front which I can't find anywere in the textures of that model. Outside of that the dress, head, and everything just gets all messed up.

                      I've had that happen with quite a few NPCs, the Opo-Opo and Hume Female Child seem to be two that the errors are very apparent. If you try to load the original 1-3-92 in VRS it will crash if you select it for the mesh to load, but if you select skeleton only it loads that just fine in VRS.

                            Think the issue with the handles texture mapping getting messed up is what we are already aware of. What I'm trying to find is were she is getting that only the UV mapping on the item that the texture and such from another mesh imported over is the only one that exists.

                            As far as I see the UV mapping is there on mine. This issue is similar to ones from other .dats I've messed with as I said above, not even importing over just simply removing anything and the UV mapping is all screwed and can't seem to be fixed.

                            The Hume Child one as I mentioned when you add to it or even remove 1 thing from it the model suddenly has a texturing that doesn't seem to exist in that file, but the game is pulling that texturing from somewere.
