  • Transparency glitch in MV?

    Ok so, I'm converting models into 3DS like normal. I save Duelist's Chapeau as an MQO to import the alpha map like normal. I open the DDS in GC3 like normal... its at like 50% opacity. This also happens to the Tabard. I delete the files and convert them again, the Tabard is now fine and I save the alpha map, but the Chapeau is still transparent. I imported it into Meta anyway and yup... it shows up transparent in 3D too.
    Why is this happening? I couldn't find it reported by anyone else and I guess will keep trying until it saves properly, but I'd like to know if I've messed something up. T_T;

    Depending on what models you mess with some of them do seem to have glitches in them, or their texturing is different from what MV, Metasequioa, or VRS can take. An example of this would be the .dat 1-5-60 it's an Opo-Opo but when you pull it up in VRS it comes out 50% opacity. Do not attempt to export it back out though, if you do part of it's texture messes up and you end up with a model that has a black and white stripes across it.

    What's odd though is you can take 1-5-61 also an Opo-Opo and when you pull it up it's seems to work perfectly fine. Nothing apparent that is different with the two, seem to have the same motions and everything just seems that 1-5-60 is glitched. There are a few other NPC models were I've come across these issues, just seems to be something about those .dats. Kind of like it's a bug in their skeleton or the texture, whatever the bug is though it's obvious when you pull it in game that the game's been coded to recognize these errors and compensate. Just if you push it you break what the game coding does to cover the error and it becomes visible in game (If your graphics card can handle it, if not the game crashes out on you).

    Cheezy Test Result (I am nerdier than 96% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!)

      I see, thanks for that reply; has anyone noticed this glitch with the same armors that I mentioned?
