  • Lil help prz o.o;;;

    I've been trying to mod a face for someone. Pretty basic stuff. Namely changing the hair color and the eye color. When I go to put the new face up. The hair is squared off. I've tried to use alpha maping to see if it solved my problems, only it didn't. It still comes out square >.<;;;; I've converted Dat to MQO and opened the .dds save as alpha. Renamed it, then opened the bitmap to photoshop to mess with the coloring. Then afterwards I save, open the bitmap into GC3, open as alpha, ect ect... Still square!!!! >.<;;;; What am I doing wrong? Gah... Please help!?

    i get problems creating alpha maps like that, try copying the alpha image and ctrl+x with white as your background colour, then black, dunno why but sometimes the alphas wont work if i dont do that

    Double Post Edited:
    edit: oh and paste the whole thing over the normal image and resave, alpha channels made with GC3 are in greyscale, for some reason saving them in rgb mode seems to work better for me

      Its because how when you save Alpha GC3 Tints everythign slightly. So when it darkens it a little basicly turning it into semi-transparent which the game just reads as solid.

      When Using alpha maps: S3TC Format (My Encode Engine > DXT3 (4-bit alpha non-premult)
      Normalt: S3TC Format (S3 Encode Engine) > DXT3 (4-bit alpha non-premult)

        when i use that method i posted, i can use the normal formatting process, the one under "my encode engine" gives everything a green tint, but ive been able to use the standard encoding method even with alpha maps
