  • What program?

Just curious as to the program most people are using on this sight. Im using paintshop and i dont think id does half the stuff you guys are talking about.

Also in many of the tutorials i dont recognize several of the commands.

    Thanks

    Re: What program?

    hi! Welcome to the community!

For the programs, youd probably like to check the stickys posted at the top of the forum, or visit potentpotables excellent walkthrough here:

also theres a nice tutorial on advanced VRS modding at ffxidats.com, and another fine forum at ffximc.com both affiliated with this community and run by members.

I haven't gotten into the actual 3D modding yet. For textures, I use photoshop. I've been using photoshop for many years now.

          Re: What program?

for textures i use the gimp from what i hear its pretty much as good as photoshop but (legally) free as for editing the models themselves, well it depends what i wanna do tbh, i do the advanced stuff in vrs like combining models and deleting the parts i dont want, but for simple scaling or moving parts around i use meta, it gives me much less of a headache and is much quicker saving and uploading the new files with modelviewer then vrs. Meta is very limited though if you want to make cooler stuff, just play around with the programs, there are plenty of good tutorials out there and the rest is pretty much common sense/trial and error
