  • Galford Hair/Head model soon to be finished.

not sure how long it will take me to finish ... *sweating* Too much hair to spike lol Anyone care to help spike some hair by chance? Heres what Ive got so far. its about 2/3rds towards the back of the head but.... I havent completely aligned all the spikes to stand STRAIGHT up, then kinda curve over the head... I'm About 70% done with aligning from the front Angle though.... ugh tedius work lol. First time doing any head modding whatsoever so...should be interesting to see how it ends up >.>....
Pic of the original character, and a pic of mine (I know I got a long ways to go lol)

Posted a FEW pics since the artwork looks slightly different than the one I am actually aiming for (the game version has shorter hair and more spiked look)

EDIT 5-20-06 Galford Slash and Bust now Released!
go to second post from the bottom for the .zip file...this is ONLY the slash version
(the other one has both files)
Please let me know if any issues come up.

lol Galford???? black Hair? O.o .... Actually... you're lucky XD ... he DOES have a Bust version of his char that has black hair ...mebbeh, seeing as how I made 2 versions of Hanzo, there may be 2 versions of Galford as well I suppose.

Anyways lol Heres what it looks like now that Ive touched on the sides ... (A bit). The back looks slightly off because some of the hair doesnt show up well from the back making it look like theres no spikes in a lot of places... gonna have to figure out how to fix that ...>.> ... its getting there lol

EDIT: Getting theres..... Pants boots, and gloves not done yet, but the hardest parts are finished. Still going to touch up the hair a bit more after I get the outfit finished. Also changing the shoulderpads to look more like the artwork. (the bright blue is on purpose, thats the color of his outfit...plus it was a pain to make white blue without getting too much white so ....I'm pretty happy with it even if it is very colorfull because technically... it was a colorfull game.

for those wondering... from now on most of the pictures of my creations will be in this pose. Although It does kinda look cool, the reason why i choose this pose is that you cann see the front, and side in the one pic, thus less dealing with pics for me

      Update:

About 85% finished... Just messking with the shading of the outfit. Figured I'd just use ninja AF boots since in the newer games his boots are black depending on his outfit, as are the gloves. Gloves are the same modified gloves as the ninja. Hair is about 90% done as well.

If you want to Spike the hair more, and alot easier than one by one :

          Go into Meta.
Select All of the top points of the hair.
Use the Scale Tool and pull them all out at once.
Then you can use the Axis Scaling to adjust them for a straight up and down appearance.

Re: Galford Hair/Head model soon to be finished.

yeah, I thought about that .... but The hair was too uneven when I did that. No biggie.
Hair : 95% done with the hair. (Wont ever be finished IMO, I'll be tweaking it forever lol).
            Gloves: finished.
Body: basically done except working on the shoulderpads.
            Pants: Finished.
Boots: found a model I'll be using but thats it so far. Should finish them tomorrow.

            Whats left after that:
Have to color tweak everything to make it blend more... Havent really focused on that right now. Once I get the model itself looking the way I want, then I'll be doing the colors more. Gloves are perfect for color I think so...expect the outfit to match the gloves.

Made the pic have the original and my version (not sure why I never did this before >.>)

            Update:
            galford at 95%.
Debating whether to tweak the gold on the boots a bit more, or to release him and start on my Bust version... with the black hair
Heres the basically finished versions Pic, as well as a reference pic to compare to

Edit: Okay I figured out how to use gradient lol so... heres the boots now I'm very happy with the way they look now. no more bright yellow blech, and thus... will be touching this up with that tool now. (mostly the gold, and a few spots on the shoulders)

I thought about that but..... the game that I am aiming to take him from has short hair like my version... that and his hair already pokes through helms and hoods....strangely (you cant see it but it does.) ...have to look WAAAAAY close up in modelviewer. did you mean more as in thickness? or more as in lengthwise? Thickness I can do... length wise..well... we all know long hair in FFXI doesnt work well lol. I can try to find a happy medium though if needed.

Generally with a mod that is a remake of a character from another game you make it so it is mainly for that outfit... so if it doesn't do hoods and hats well I don't think it's that bad... personally I hate how short that hair is doesn't look right

hmm..... I'll look into changing the hair a bit.... Have you played Samurai Shodown?

Someone suggested something that was pure genious.... Needless to say... I am completely redoing the body portion of Galford. Here is the new look I am aiming for.
(Keep in mind this is very very early WIP on the body so... only SOME coloring, and havent blended anything else yet, or even fixed the clipping etc yet... BUT.... with no issues it should be finished and ready for download tonight! ...if theres no issues of course lol.

For those that scrolled all the way down here.....I'll repeat the top post

                          GALFORD PROJECT FINISHED!!!!!
OMG did it take forever.... I had finished it and then Someone brought up a very good Idea so... I scrapped the body piece and started all over... But it was worth it by far Let me know what you think!

I will Upload tomorrow afternoon when I test everything in game to make sure theres no clipping issues.
