  • skeletal weights question

ive been trying to follow the guide on kilandors site, but thats proving a little difficult because for some reason none of the images will load there for me (the reply to thread button wouldnt show up either) anyhow, when i click view>open skeleton weight a blankn box comes up, from what i can gather from the tutorial there should be numbers or something in there, but theres nothing, looks like this:

i think i can pretty much work out the bit that comes after that. anyone have any ideas what im doing wrong?

      Re: skeletal weights question

u have to click on a point first to actually see the weights... and only one point btw (unless they all use same weight).

Gah, and NOT a Skeletal OBJECT.

You want to select a Vertex to change the Skeletal Weight, not a portion of the Skeleton itself.

            Re: skeletal weights question

ok next question, i managed to attach a great katana to the back of an armour piece and set the weights just fine, in model viewere it looks perfect but in game it seems to be taking the textures from the armour instead of the seperate dds file ><

Goto my website and look at the Metaseqouia UV Mapping Tutorial.

This will most likely fix your problem, im 99.9% sure.

ahh, never done meta mapping, ty for pointing me in the right direction /bow

                Double Post Edited:
well i followed the guide the uv maps appear to be in the right place, and modelviewer still shows it as it should look, just in game is not showing up properly
