An original, unmodified .DAT file is actually only Half of the Model. In other words, just modding the Origianl File, there is no way.
Now, when you import a Model into VRS, it mirrors the Half-Model. Then, when you export it, it saves both the Model pieces as one Model, instead of as a half.
So, what you can do :
1> Import Model into VRS.
2> Export Model without any changes.
3> Export Model using Model Viewer.
4> Open Model with Metaseqouia.
When you open the Model with Meta, you will be able to remap both sides of the UV. Therefore, you can make your changes onto some dead space of the Texture, or make a completely new Texture, and then remap the UV appropriately. You will just have to use the "Click on Model - Drag on UV" method I describe on my site.
