He has a death emote, but he doesn't really fall over and die. The horse rears back. So it may not be an actual 'death', but rather him just riding away. I don't know for sure, though.

Well yeah, that's what I meant. He doesn't just collapse on the floor like a normal mob/nm/hnm rather he has a special animation which shows there's some sort of story to him. I doubt he's just your run of the mill random spawn super mob and we probably won't be able to learn more about him until they release more ToAU storyline.

The chocobo has a Damage Emotion... never seen that one come into play either. Unused emotions could just be thrown in for POSSIBLE future content or just thrown in due to playing with the Models from the beginning.

Back in the old days you could get aggro and get hit on chocobos. (or so I've heard) so possibly the damage animation was used back then.

Anyway, apart from the amount of legs, it looks like it could be a Odin type of character.

It is still possible. That the unknown "Dark Rider" is actually Odin, returned! x.x! That would be in the ToAU Storyline though, lol. GO complete ToAU missions :D.

Lol, have yet to see what animation it does when doing "Breath's."

That thing is huge . I dunno if I wanna summon it. It's like the bahamut .dat change I did awhile back Bahamut you can only see his tail literally.
He's that large, "Odin" would require a large downsizing in order to be useful instead of annoying. Especially in aggro heavy regions.

The OP replaced the game files for the drg wyvern with the ones for Odin, so now one looks like the other.

Some friends of mine happened to see Dark Rider...and I think they were in Caedarva Mire...like someone had mentioned, I believe he leaves the "Warhorse Hoofprint" that you need to find to recieve your Superior Private rank. Also, there is a short part of the ToAU trailer that has him in it...I believe maybe he's a weaker, or sort of avatar type thing of Odin, and that we can't fight, or do anything to him at the moment, as there are posts about a 75 MNK/NIN doing 0 damage with hits and 0 with Chi Blast, or just missing period. I think in the future we'll either be fighting Dark Rider in a BC before Odin in missions, or that he will turn into Odin or something...with the extra legs >_> We'll see, but nice wyvern :D

Also...none of the AA's have a death emote, they kinda freeze in one position and like blow up into shards, ya' know? So he is obviously something special :D
