I'm embrassed to ask, this seems like something I should be able to easily figure out... but I do best when I have explict instuction, haha.
I've only just started to delve into the realm of .DAT modification, simply working with plain textures at the moment. I've become adept at easy recolors and such, but I wanted to do something and had a problem.
I wanted to make a mask for my Elvaan F character, but there was some obvious problems that I dont know how to go about doing. What I had planned looked like a leather bandana that wrapped around the mouth (Sort of a speak no evil thing, just because I think a mute MNK woman would be neat. I planned on also making a sash for her eyes later, to give a mysterous Martial artists vibe.) But the obvious problem was, that it simply just applied right to the texture of her skin.
I'm ready to start using more advanced tools I think, what steps should I take to do this?
Will I need to start working with actual modeling tools?
