  • map .dat help

    how would i go about editing map .dats? what program would i use etc

    i want to redo them and add a bunch of things i havent seen on even other map edits, but need someone to point me in the right direction, thanks in advance

    Where have you seen 'other map edits'? Last I checked, no one has been able to modify the maps. You can swap them easy enough, but I haven't heard of any edits.

      It is possible. They're just DXT3 textures... using changetex, in conjunction with POLUtils (To find the file location) you can annotate a dds file and then swap it back in.

      That is, if that's what you're asking?

        there was a problem last i knew with getting a 32bit injector to make the maps work. Someone figured it out but some of his maps have errors, like no 3rd map in boyahda tree when you fall down the waterfall..or bad positioning in quicksand caves.
