Old School FF Look...

I was wondering if it was at all possible to make a sort of old school White Mage look for a Hume Male. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, so hopefully this picture can get it out for me.

Bare with me, it's about the only picture I found that even remotely resembles what I'm looking for...

I just can't settle for the FFXI version of my AF, lol.

wish I could help with your request but I dont have any skills at all with anything but repainting things lol XD. I did however find a pic that might help get your request across a bit better. (if not let me know and I'll delete this so it doesnt distract)

Actually, that's exactly what I was looking for, lol. I forgot about the FF Tactics designs. >.>; But yeah, it's no problem. I've seen a lot of awesome things done on this forum, and I have to say, I'm truely impressed with everyone's work. If this isn't entirely possible, then no worries. I just thought it'd be a neat idea.

Really the whole model would have to be edited and then reskinned. I dont really think it would be worth it unless the bottom half was connected to the top half like an overcloak and the front from top down was open. Also would have to make the sleeve openings ridiculously long. I dont have any skill in that department but i wouldn't mind seeing a full version preview.

Arms or no arms, that looks awesome! The hood came out really nice, especially.

I was going through some of the dats I had downloaded to see which would more resemble the style I'm looking for. Most of them...well, actually, all of them happened to be Female Hume models. I guess because the "skirt" type armors really have an appeal...


I was thinking something like extending the ends of a typical cloak a bit like the one here. But I'm not too sure about how there would be areas left "open."


Or this style may be the better option, seeing as how it comes down more like a dress...


I dunno, I just like the scheme of this mod. It looks very "White Magey." Thought I'd point it out...maybe create like a mix between this and the Nun's Outfit.

That last one is quite interesting, especially the "Red Crosss" symbol on the upper side of her arms... guess it kinda reminds me more of a 1940's nurse look, but... interesting nontheless, lol. As for the first one, the bottom half of her skirt is more looking like the old WHM outfit, but upper is getting "Red Riding Hood" style, i know you wanna edit it though, i'd change the whole top half to white and maybe just blend in the red like you did the bottom half but making the skirt going down to her feet. It's alot of work. :/

That was my first impression as well, lol. I like how an aketon-type armor was used and modded to make it look more like a skirt, or dress, to give the "Nurse-look." Then you have the white and the red triangles scheme that I really want to see in a White Mage robe.

Yeah. Unfortunantly, I have no experience or knowledge of modding dats. Maybe someday I'll have the time to play around and learn it so that I can get into creating a few things and start sharing them here...

They should, but I don't know about those in particular. I have tried a few on my Taru on a couple occasions and it works just fine, to my knowledge. It's a Taru, though. They're so small that any faults in the animation would hardly be of any notice. >.>

That, I do like. If I can ever bring myself to level WHM, then thats going to need converting.

Maybe reskin the nun with a similar pattern to that. Bring the shirt in a little and try to blend it with the skirt? (Or will that just make horrible things happen during animations? o.O)

Um, I'd just like to remind you guys that I didn't make any of the mods in the pics I posted. Those were taken from the DAT Collection. >.>; I'd give tons of credit to those who made them if I had names, believe me. They are, indeed, very amazing...

Can't be too sure. I really want to have this made for a Hume Male, so you can imagine how the dresses are going to animate. -.-; That's the idea I had, though. Basically use the nun dress and reskin it with a similar design to the Nurse and the WHM AF, and hopefully it'll come out looking like how White Mage's used to look in the older Final Fantasies.

Again. Ever am I hopeful for some modding skills of my own, lol.
