    Re: noob roasting!

Everyone has the ability to insult you, not everyone has the ability to help you. This is especially true given the level of your question.

However, even though I generally avoid reading PP's posts, he's 100% right in this case. The information is already there, waiting to be picked up and used. It's not worth the time of the talented individuals who post in this forum (This is not self-aggrandizement; I'm not one of those talented individuals.) to take the hand of every newbie who walks in here with a cool idea they'd like to see created and walk them through the processes. It makes much more sense for you to exert that effort yourself for your own benefit. May I refer you to my sig. Moreover, I think the modding community considers taking these first few steps to be a rite of passage. I would point out the amount of time and effort you've already invested in this thread that you could have used answering your questions yourself.

I'm sorry your questions were met with little more than spam and invective. That's really not the norm here. However, it really was unrealistic of you to come here and expect answers to be delivered to you this way.

      Re: noob roasting!

      simple rule to follow....

search for whatever topic you're looking for.

If you can't find anything that matches your question, then start a new thread and state that you couldn't find anything via seach.

no need to make a paragraph-long explanation about it (PP), but just tell him to use the search function.

This whole thread is counterproductive. Instead of bombarding the OP with long witty remarks, tell him what to do in a couple of sentences, so we can spare the agony. End of story

Perhaps I'm asking the wrong person... you probably don't know the answer to that either.
And in the time you replied you could have searched.

People help those who help themselves first.

But, more or less all the information your looking for can be found on my forum. Don't worry though it has a search button to, and Categorys which should help.

Alright, I'll go hunting then. Any way we can close this topic? Seems kinda pointless now.

            UV Maps: Metasequoia
To use this, open the model viewer and export the model you want. Open it in Meta. You can also open the image (.dds) in an image editor to change the picture.
            http://www.geocities.jp/burumakun/meta6.html
None of its in English, but if you follow the numbers and use some trial and error you'll get the hang of it. The top picture is the most useful. 1 - Click that to open the UV mapping. 2 - Just outlining the UV mapping area. 3 - Click that top middle box. 4 - Click the button that says 'Move' in the english version, so you move things around. 5 - Thats the model. 6 - You can use those arrows to move the UV mapping left and right instead of clicking and dragging if you want.

Meta is also superior for repositioning verticies.

            Everything Else: VRS
Skeletal editing is only 1/2 possible currently. A new version has been released, but its all in Japanese. That version can edit the skeleton and animations. The currently translated version cant to anything useful with the actual skeleton.

You can use this program to add verticies, add polygons, add extra textures, make things reflective, and change how things move. There are some good tutorials for this on Kilandor's forum. VRS Tutorials. Begin with "Engrish Walkthrough.." and read others as you need them.
