Small progress update. Body work is mostly done, with some fine tuning and extra touches to do before I consider it finished with regard to that. Retexturing is required also, which will take some time... There is a problem with reflectivity on the half-moon piece at the hilt, i.e. too shiny and two of the three parts aren't behaving the same. Still, it's coming along nicely.

Yes its looking real good i must say!

Although just curious, the outer white part, wasn't it gray? Like a dark grey? Correct me if im wrong.

Anyways keep up the good work! Cant wait to see the final version

P.S. That sword in your sig, isnt that the one from Nightmare in the Soul Calibur Series?

I noticed that when I moded your Requiem as well. The blade edge could probably use a skin pattern stolen off a great katana, get some nice steel coloring from those.

The shape is perfect btw. Very well done.

Yeah, the blade itself isn't modified at all aside from shape yet. I'm planning on making it dark, with scars and scratches along its surface. I'm not quite sure how to fix the reflectivity problem though. Any suggestions?

              Re: For my next project...

Make the outer layer (the white part) a tad bit smaller, not so much white, bring out the black more. Other than that it looks sweet. Some blood stains at the end of it wouldnt be bad

Other than the obvious texture stuff, I say make it longer, and maybe a tad wider. Just remember, it's HUGE!

                  Re: For my next project...

Aye, I have adjusted the main blade shape to be longer and wider, it comes roughly 3 inches above the ground when latched. I think I also know what I need to do now to fix the problem with the variable shading, it should be looking better soon.

Edit: Major corruption occured, destroying most of the handle work. Lesson learned: Keep a backup. Back to the drawing board...

Modeling phase complete, unless some other source of inspiration strikes me. Photos attatched.

Now, for the much-feared and often-botched texturing...

That looks awesome. I'd still make it a tad longer, but then, I'm not happy if there aren't clipping problems with the ground
                            Great job!

Some more texture work, it's coming together. I think that the blade portion may need to be a bit more lighter, and I want to increase the res on the handle, anamorphic style. A lot of it is going unused simply due to the fact that the handle is a lot less detailed on Requiem.

I made a minor deviation on the core of the blade, but I think it works really well. The lighter parts will sometimes (but rarely) catch the light source and shine. Anyway, on to the screenshots.
