It's unchartered waters, basically. Not so much so as it was a year ago, since there's more people doing it now, but it really is not something that anyone can just pick up on. I think having some graphic art experience as well as some knowledge of 3D (Not the software, I meant the actual science)

There's some good 3D resources out there and you can get yourself up to speed before you plunge headfirst into customizing .dats

Then the best place (*shudders*) to go for this is KI's forum. Don't have to post, just check out the threads (use search function) If you gloss over the death threat posts and childish bantering, you can find a few nuggets of wisdom that will help you better understand the whole mess.

He explains thoroughly on there how to edit .dats... all the info i know comes from there, i cant come up with a simpler way than phabin's to explain how to edit .dats..
