Help with the ???Tiara (1-146-11.DAT)

Hi all. I was hoping to beg a little help from the gurus of .DAT editing here. Being perpetually stuck in the 50s with DRG (I got 50 just AFTER the DRG gimp, then 53 AFTER the DRG ungimp, to give you an idea of how little i actually level my "main" job) I decided that I'd give my gear a bit of an AF influence. I was hoping that a simple colour swap would do the trick, but having finished my head piece, I've run into a problem.

Attached are 2 .bmps of my problem. One is the ???Tiara (1-146-11.DAT), which I am trying to edit to use as my Valkyrie Mask. The other is the end result, after conversion back to .DAT, using the tools you find on these forums. I used GIMP for the colour swapping, but as you can see, I have a all-black chin-guard that doesn't show up in the original.

Having no real experience with photoshop or other image editing programs, I was hoping someone might be able to suggest a solution.

Its an alpha layer problem. Alpha layers determine what parts of the image don't get displayed. If you post that .dat I'd be happy to fix it for you.

OK, I've attached the .DAT that already has the colours converted, and the black chinguard displayed. I've also labeled it 1-52-5.DAT (ROM folder 1, folder 52, .DAT 5)
