well pull some strings devi noone helps me out so ...maybe they will help you out XD I want meh cape /cry
--------------EDIT---------------
Since I dont know how to detatch that cape and reattatch it at the shoulders..Ive made another style ...it looks CLOSE to the one posted above but...animates fairly well. The only thing about this one is it gives an ILLUSION of a real cape and ..it acts like a real cape so ..this may have to work..still in beta form so, I havent added all the textures and polished the look yet. Untill I get the cape posted above working...this will be the cape for my Knight from Final fantasy tactics. heres a very early look at what it will look like (just the model....havent changed any colors yet or anything else).
Mm...it was a nice attempt but it just doesn't fit...looks like a super level 7 noob XD Ok, seriously, it just doesn't match, you know? Then again the FFT version is very complex. You may have to do some photoshoping to be honest, because you'll have a hard time matching THAT armor.
I think the knight is turning out really nice, can't wait to see what the finished product looks like. I do have a suggesstion for the face, IMO you should model it closely to that of Elvaan face 3b, just tweak it some to fit your specifications.

*cough* well...i DID mention I havent touched the outfit with photoshop yet >.>

give it an elvaan face? I admit the face wasnt going to be in the finished product and I was going to make the head model to look more like the pic but.....why elvaan? I dont recall FFT even having the elvaan race..Any specific reason for this that I may be mssing?
when i said model it, i didnt mean give it an elvaan face, i believe i also said to tweak it to you specifications. I merely sugested that face as an idea or something to base the hume face off of it because it has those to things of hair coming out.
gotcha ^^. Ill definately look into it...I havent even glanced at what face I was going to give him yet ...I figure if I cant get the outfit at least half way decent... no point in going further untilll that parts done. Once the gear is good to go ..Ill definately check out that face. Thanks for the input, its always appreciated
Could you pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease make a hooded black cloak, like a hood and a cape with rips in it, kind of like the one Guts wears from the anime Berserk.
Rips would be very very easy to make...same with the black look of the Cape ..A solid black cape would be kinda plain ...and I dunno anything about berserk but... If i was to make a black cloak, without looking at any references most likely it would look very close to a Black V cloak, since to me black and gold would look good together...however since the rips would look wierd on a classy looking cloak ..I would Just Darken the regular lvl 7? cloak (Or edit my Orlandu Cloak and make it Black and alpha Rips into the cape piece).
I have been fairly busy lately with Projects and other things so ....while i MAY do this if you really want one...I'd rather not ...If you know a fair bit about modding, or even skinning, I can help you to make it ...but like I said .if you really want one ..let me know and I'll see what I can do.
You do awesome work, just great designs. But I got a question. Based around no one in particular, could you make a model for the mage classes that is full body cloak, hood and all, but either down or up really doesnt matter. The game is full of 'capes and cloaks' but they all cut off around the waist, would be nice to see some actual wizardry garb, full length robes. You know you waaaanna :-D
Editing this slightly - I looked back and felt like slapping myself, but then I sorta thought about it. Alot of the Shrine Knights do the full length mantles, front and back, and that's pretty much what I'm talking about. Except that the bottom of the cloak would fan out a bit wider around the legs (i dont expect movement of the cloak to match actual movement of the person, that to me would be really complex and difficult to ask)
Btw, nooblet question.heh..how do I switch out the .dat files from the zip file of the shrine knights to copy over my .dat files from the game? not real sure which files to overlap :-S
ok, first off...I am confused at your question so .... your saying that you FOUND a cloak that you were looking for? or still want one made?
As for switching the .dats just open the viewer and find the armor you are looking for and get the .dat number... then extract the .zip file to a folder (any folder but usually NOT a FFXI folder) then change the names of the ones you extracted to match the .dat file you want it to replace and it should work fine ...Just make sure you dont overwrite the old one ... add an A to that file or something at least. (Also wise to back-up your WHOLE ROM file just in case). if this doesnt help much, theres tons of info about this everywhere, and its posted everywhere, it goes into a LOT more detail than what I went into. Your best bet would be to read those tutorials, thats how I learned.
As for shrine knight to copy over to the piece for "Shrine knight body" look for the body piece u want to change it with and find the number for that gear in the model viewer... then name it the same instead of shrine knight body.
Debaking, I know nothing moding .dats, and I'm not too computer savvy, so I would be wasting my time trying, but I've seen your work and it is awesome, so I know you could do this for me, it would totally rock man.
I can give you this site as a reference to what I want the cape to look like, but with a hood.
No no, I mean the cloaks for shrine knights resembles what I'm talking about, but no breaks for armor, just total cloth cover over everything, one full material.
