Fenrir=Chocobo

Ok i changed the dat file from chocobo to fenrir i no there is no getting off file to load when geting off so when i get off fenrir it freezes luckly i had a hl white friend nearby to teleport dem me.so is there a way to get off fenrir without a glitch or do i have to do the dismount and run into city before it dismonts like i normaly do....
any help would be gladly accepted

You can only dismount chocobos sadly, no other mobs have dismount routines/motions. Ive always wished taru could ride charmed beastmaster pets or at least jugpets. Seems disrespectful in the extreme to summon an avatar for riding purposes... theyre not pokemon.

I tested swapping Chocobos with other files a while ago. There's a trick to getting off of them. Get off exactly as you zone in. This bypasses the get off animation...but it limits as to where you can get off. Also, swap the Chocobo back in as you zone so you can hop off...that is if you need to get off somewhere other than a zone line.

And as for a picture...here's one of my earliest swaps cause riding a tiger was just so cool

On a sidenote, what happens if you replace it with something like a golem or hume or elvaan?

Depending on how the creature is shaped...it places you at the roughly center of the model, not always on top of it. This is why some mobs that are taller than they are wide will look strange.

ehhh sorry about the delay but.......ffxi has like really messed up i think i moved the wrong file and it all stoped i cant go to mh or sandoria or bastok its sad itll take me a while till i get a picture

It would be agreat addition to the beast master job, if at high levels (say 60+) you can get an ability to charm a monster and ride it, though obviously have the same works sometimes but not all so if it doesn't work you hve to fight it etc. hmmm any developers snooping???
