  • convert mqo to mcd

    ive looked, found and atempted probably 30 ways to do something ...
    i am using adoby phtoshop elements 2 to edit the textures of armors, and i got some nice ones saved up, but i can get the new edit, or even an dat to mqo file group to ever go back to a DAT file. anyone have any clues, ive downloaded and redownloaded the model viewer, but in the lenghty end, nothing has worked that i have found.

    you cannot make a MCD. That contains the data for it to import the Vertex's of the model back into the game. If your just doign texture editing its not what your problem is.

    Go here and choose texture editing.

      Just to edit the texture on an object you have to change two files, the .bmp and the .dds files. Start by making the .bmp how you want it, then use Graphics Converter 3 to create the .dds file from the .bmp. Then you can use the modelviewer to import your mods back into .DATS.

      Hit up this link that Kilandor gave and then click "Texture Editing" at the top. That page gives a great tutprial, as well as links to the tools to use.

        when i go and try to cinvert to dat , it says "error: please select a modle to convert" and then "the mqo file failed to open" .... this is from anything that i work on. i can not get it to convert to dat. (ops did i mcd .. thats the fild the modle viewer uses, the dds is the file you save for compressed textures for the game to use.

          okay, i finaly figured out my problem, and how to utilize the alphamaping on the phtoshop plugin (working with elements 2). I was trying to get teh PLD AF1 to be replaced with a diffrent modle that i had skinned. What i needed to do was replace the PLD AF1 dat with the one that i pulled out and skinned first. The modle has to match that i am replaceing with the one that is loaded that im changeing.

            I have a issue involving the MQO and MCD files. when i get done making a modle and save it. it doesnt make the MCD file but just the MQO. how do i get it to save the MCD file? i want to get this modle onto the game but because it doesnt make the MCD file i cant utilize it

              <sigh> People never read or search. You CANNOT Add/Delete Vertexs in Meta and Expect to import it back. You cannot Edit the MCD in ANY way. There is NO program to Edit/Make a MCD.

              If you want to do that you MUST Download VRS.

                well sorry, but i looked at a bunch of english toutorials and they never said anything about VRS. and since i cant read japanese i wouldnt beable to follow the japanese totourials.

                could you atleast state how to open the file in VRS and save it in the right format? i cant seem to open the MQO file

                      hrm, can some one like and admin change the topic of this post to ...

                      Converting MQO to DAT files .... cause that was a quick mistake that i knew better when i did post it, i was just trying to post before i went to work, ...

                        Sorry, But Converting you can't convert anthing from meta > VRS if it involves having changed the model around by adding/deleting the vertex's. So, any Vertex/Polygon work for Adding/Deleting Anythign Major Must be done in VRS. So basicly Any work you done in Meta would be lost, unless you can import it into MV, and it work properly.

                        I'm sorry but basicly you will just have to start over But this has happened to basicly all of us.
