  • Creating Various Faux Texture Looks

So I'm thinking of skinning a fun/slightly kinky but no nudity swimsuit/bikini armor for Hume/Elvaan/Mithra - however I'm not sure how to create the texture I want. I want to make it look like shiny vinyl. Anyone have any tips on doing that?

Also I'd love any tips someone can give me for say like making silk/satin looking cloth and any other "advanced" material texturing.

For another armor set I made a white ago I kinda need to retexture a black part to make it more shaded/less flat - so I was thinking of either velvet/silk or leather/vinyl looking. That's another reason for this post. So give me tips to provide you with more fun body armor and less heads lol.

You're going to have to find someone who knows how to play with the specular properties of the equipment models.

And I'm going to have to pay attention to this thread so I can learn how to change the specularity too. :D

Amma has basic leather making - but I want a more advanced looking type - I'm not sure but maybe something akin to using other leather mobs to skin other armors. Get what I'm trying to say?

As for the cloth - I can't remember what it was but I think now that I think someone mentioned about using Noise? to create depth/cloth folds in cloth. I guess I could try looking at other people's mods and see how they made them.

One of the good things ive lernt is to use heavy noice, then lighten it till its noticeable, but not too noticeable (light effect your going for am i right?), then colourise the area and get it to the right colour, then shade and so what ever is needed for the final item.

i have also tried to make a noice overlay, so i made a second layer, put noise on that and changed the transparency of that layer untill it gave the right look, and deleted the metalic areas.

Oh and if your doing metal, do some heavy noise just in the corners a little, gives the edges more depth ^-^ if done right, its a bit tricky gaudgeing how much will show up

I'll have to try that later on my old gothic summoner af (only skinned it for Mithra and Elvaan Females)
