Fenrir Crab

My posting debut here at ffxionline! I posted this on KI and thought some of you might get a kick out of it as well.



I tried turning off lighting effects for this one but it's still kind of a dark picture. Sorry I don't have any in the daylight.

It doesn't take much. I just got into it. All I did was a little reskinning. I put used Fenrir's texture, but I also turned the opacity down so some of the crabs inconsistancies showed through. Then I changed the crab's natural hue to match the new texture. Wasn't too tough. The clothes that Mithra is wearing is the first retext I've done. LoL Not very good though...I am kinda proud of the Fenrir Crab. I also made a shadow crab, but I've been told I wasn't the first to do this.







And everyone has seen different versions of pink crabs...this one is mine :p


Anyway, those were just sort of tests. Like I said, I'm new to this. Let me know what you think about my "Lunar Crab"

Haha, that's alright. It's pretty easy for anyone who knows a little something about Photoshop. Nothin too fancy.

A nice program that you might want to play with is Gimp. Its free, download it from http://www.gimp.org/ Its a funny program, and you can make special effects with it as well (Filters -> Light effects)

Gimp is awesome, and on top of it all it's free, so i can use it to work without having to deal with the uberly expensive software out there.

Anyways,great textures! however i think original textures would look better, that or use the shadow lord texture but inverted or just with a different hue, same with fenrir's. This would just add that bit of variety without being kinda silly :-P

Cool. I'll have to see how that would look. Though with these, silly was kinda what I was giong for. ^^

Gimp is indeed very nice to play with.. I made the big picture in my signature with it. But I would like to make even better signatures, like Esildurs one, (http://members.shaw.ca/cgreer11/White-Paladinv4.jpg) or like yours, Tonkai. Do I need Photoshop to do this? Or another program? And which one is best? And somewhere free maybe? And dont mention Torrents :p

Not sure what the differences are, I've never used Gimp. But as for getting Photoshop free and not mentioning Torrents...not sure what to tell you.

A great quote to illustrate a point:

Anyone who agrees with the above statement is not qualified to judge one's artwork.

Also, MSPaint while being a "useless piece of crap", is capable of doing anything Photoshop does, so there.

The only thing MSpaint can't do is save in some special formats.
