Pretty sure flames would be an added effect. Not sure if you can attach an added effect to a weapon as of yet.

Though if it is possible, I can think of a few nice ideas.

Hmm... if his sword has a >dat all its own it would be possible. I am pretty sure the effects are part of the .DATs The reason I suggest this because as we know... there are no taru GMs but the shield is available for taru somehow and the animation for it carries over.

Hmm... that raises a few questions... like, do states exists for weapon types? I'm sure they have some sort of state associated with them, but say... if you wanted to have a flame effect on the blade only while the sword was "active", and then have it "burn off" when you unequip/disengage. I think S-E should make some sort of editing software... instead of trying to keep people from making destructive mods, they could promote people making creative, non-intrusive mods.

I was in GM jail the other day and I noticed that the GM's hand was glowing near his weapon, or his weapon was glowing, i'm not sure. It was like a blue flame type of thing.

It's on the armor itself. It's also only in the game files for humans at present, I'm not sure if the burn affect would transfer across races.
