I was wondering what methods some people might be using to make custom models for, say, body armors and such. For example, there are some body armors in the DevilFoxx package that look as if they're a combination of the nude Hume Female body and one of the other armors, like the Hauby.
I'm interested in creating my own armors as well, and was curious how to go about editing the models so they move with the skeleton, how to map the UVs and package it into the .dat file. Also, if there are any considerations I should keep in mind while modeling, like vertex count.
I was originally against modding FFXI, but after seeing some of the work here and on links from here, I've put about every mod I've seen (and liked) into the game, and still looking for more. I hope I can make something others will want to use in their games as well! Thanks for any help, and thanks for everyone's contributions!!
