    Hmm, Mithras...

    I've been hearing from some friends about how SE nixed the original FFXI animation for the Mithra's sitting animation. Does anyone know how I can restore this? I'd like to see how it looked.

    (I've already done some digging and can't seem to figure it out.)

    Edit: I found the "home file" for Mithras - 1-51-89. If someone has an "original, fresh installation" copy of this from their game discs, please attach it to the thread.

    well, if you install the game but dont update it, you can get the original dat file. back that up, then update and replace the new sit dat with the old one.

      Ok. I guess I may as well start backing up my Current FFXI installation so I can copy everything over when the reinstall's done.

        er...I'm not sure if that's going to work. you might want to check to be sure before reinstalling. I think you still might have to patch everything all over again so you'd better be sure.

                Mithras sit with their legs apart. AKA sexually provocative - Square Enix nixed the animation and replaced it with a different sitting position.

                The file should be on your original installation disc...just gotta do a fresh reinstall

                    If you bought the original US release of the game, I' pretty sure /sit was added in a later update, meaning it won't be on the disc.

                    To me it seemed less provacative and more... butch? I'm not sure if that's the right word. Their animations are less femenine than Hume or Elvaan women, more tomboy like. Kinda carefree and innocent. I liked that about them. I guess it could hav been seen as risque shile wearing RSE or subligars... mine wore slops and slacks usually.

                    The new position looks awkward, even painful.

                      If anyone can help me find it, I would appreciate it. I just reinstalled FFXI and it appears that th eoriginal files did not work -- it seems that it was removed prior to the Rise of the Zilart release.

                      By the way, Allakhazam doesn't have a usable search forums feature, because it's exclusive to "premium" users. greedy people -.-

                      If anyone has a link to any of these forum posts I'd appreciate it.

                        I scoured the Mithra forums at Alla, and I can't take it any longer. That site is f'ing annoying. I have to refresh each page five times just to see what's on it. And isn't it great that to ads and adware pop up flawlessly each time? I'm angry, I want to see this as well, but all I found there was a link to a picture that didn't exist anymore.
