Porting from one race to another

While I'm still fairly new at making .dats I'd like to think I'm getting better at it. What I would like to try now is to take some of the custom .dats that other people have made and make them work for other races as well take something like Mithra RSE for Elvaan females because face it - there isn't enough out there for them .

So if anyone would have any tips to go about doing this - I'd very thankful. I have Mets and all that stuff as I believe it would probably require doing some model adjustment. So thanks for any help you can give me ^^
