  • Custom .dat problems

    Last night I attempted to change some .dat files to custom ones (ones that worked, because i've had them for a while) and when I went to see them in the Model viewer, they wouldn't work. The same was true in game. The customs would not work at all. The ones that I had put in before the update worked perfectly fine, but any I attempted afterwards wouldn't work. Is everybody having this same problem? If so, does that mean that this is the end of customized .dat files...?

    Mine still work fine. Perhaps when you converted your texture files you used too high a quality or colour rate?

        You can't add or remove verticies in metaseq and expect it to work. There is information contained within the .mcd file that involves the vertices so when you change it, it won't convert correctly anymore because you havn't changed the .mcd file.

          You can alter by hiding but you cant erase anything.

            oh and how do i hide things? i read about something similar not sure if its the same but i need graphics converter 3 like it says here http://cse.unl.edu/~ijones/ffxi/ but the link doesnt take me to graphics converter 3.anybody know wher ei can get it?

            EDIT- if i put up the files on here, that i changed around can someone make them work?one is a gi that wont come out with the colors i made it, and the other is my character's face that i edited so his eyes would look like orochimaru from naruto.but both of them are edited with metasequoia so that's probably why they dont work.

              When you "hide" them persay , you drag what you dont want visible into the main body of the object. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesnt.

              make sure to Save the original just in case.

                  You can't edit textures in metasequoia.

                    Well, I tried changing stuff into files that USED to work before the update and now they don't work at all....don't know what the problem is ; ;

                    bleh...Nvm....it's strange but some of the files just don't seem to work with some of the boots, lol, like they'll show up with some boots but not others oh well, as long as they work i am HAPPY, lol >.>
