  • Rendering .dat files?

I've seen some more than game-like renders of some .dat file setups and I was just wondering how people were going about it. What are the steps and process to take a pose/setup in a Model Viewer to importing them into a 3d program like Maya or 3D Studio Max?

    Thanks!

      1) use the search feature before posting, i think SA posted a guide for this and 2) do u want to like view .dats in model viewer or like actually export them from .dat to something like .3ds and work with them in a 3d program?

That's SA's post on his 3d models he rendered with 3dsmax I think. He gives a few other less expensive options tho

I was trying to search but it was shortly after the site came back online so the search was incredibly slow. Thanks for the responses. ^^

Yeah, in the link I provided, if you read through the thread, SA gives some advice on rendering in 3dsmax I believe. Metasequoia too I think. Don't think SA's actually done a full blown walkthrough on it but knowin' him he'll have one popped out soon enough. He always does somethin' awesome and everyone clambers to find out how to do it themselves. Hence his Video making walkthrough.
