Time to look at my thread once again

    Responses:

mr.woerschtle, thats about what it will cost you, though a bit high (lots of failures? or crappy AH prices bringing you down?). Expect to have the cost start increasing dramatically around the 50's, but up to then it should be far easier.

Raiyu, I'm glad I could help. Take your time when skilling up too - going after too much too fast can make it seem like you're spinning your wheels. Otherwise, I hope it goes well for you.

StarvingArtist, I'm rather flattered to have someone of your level and reputation taking a look at my little 'ol thread As for what you used and had for costs, thanks for posting that. It's always good to have more people post their experience.

To all others who have responded before on this thread, thanks for checking it out! Drop me a line anytime if you have questions.

    Updates:

I'm now starting on smithing and leatherworking, to level up those a bit for some specific recipes I'm using. Cloth is going up at a decent rate too, but I'm farming up a few million before I start going at it hell bent for leather again.

There have been some new recipes added to cloth, and the new updates will yield new items as well, so I'll try and make some revisions/updates to things once I find out what square tosses out to us crafting addicts

I've also got some of the ingredients now to make my first abjuration gear! Dhalmatica, here I come! (well, after another ~20 levels of clothcraft first bah...)

My next information thread will be somewhat linked to this one, a guide to red mage levelling, spells and equipment throughout my experience. It'll be a bit more interesting I think, but we'll see what I can do with it

Anyways, take care all. The next class session in this thread will be this weekend with cloth 75-80.

Be sure to tune in! Same Cloth time, same Cloth channel!

    Time to move on.

This guide has helped me alot pdac! I'm in the middle of vacation for 2 weeks but when I get back I'm going straight back to clothcraft:sweat: . I'm only 25 (0-25 in 3 days:dead: ) but I hope to make some money off of Dynamis and Tulia when I get back and go for lvl 100 while leveling RDM. So I guess I'll be looking up your guide for clothcrafting and RDM now:sweat: .

        Keep up the good work

hey Pdac, I wanna start off with a THanks. Ok now on to my question: Has anyone used black chocobo fletching to level 62-72 ? The other fletching levels have been a blast so does anyone have info on this fletching ?

          Thanks to all who respond

the thing you'd want to do is check sandy and see how often and for how much they sell, if it's anything like the rate of insect fletchings then i'd go for it, if it's few and far between, then probably only good for skill ups...

btw, i'm no where near there (only 56) so i'm just guessing...

Setheron, Black Chocobo Fletchings are actually a good levelling item...the problem is availability, as on my server they were never in the AH, and the vendor by the south san stables only sold a few a day...hardly worth trying, imho. If you can make 'em work, then by all means - just make sure to let us know how it goes.

My most recent roadblock has been being addicted to levelling ranger...much to my dismay. It cleans you out *fast* - time to go make some mad gil again!

Stokes, Lucky Strike, thanks for your compliments. METDeath, thanks for helping others out on this thread too.

Take care all, see you again soon...same cloth time, same cloth channel!

My 1st post here, anyways great guide must of took really long to write it lol. Thank you pdac because with this guide i got all the way from 0-68 in 3 days of course i had to use different items for certain steps but overall i used your guide mainly.

Anyways refering to Sethron's question about the silk headbands i must say i blew all my money starting from 53-68.

60-68 when i started making silkhead bands it costed me around 80k the 1st 2 lvls then it got a lot better at 62 and dropped to around 60k per lvl for 62-64 and from 64-68 50k a lvl since the failures became a lot less frequent.

Silk threads on my servers are 11-12k
                    Silk cloths are 40k
                    Earth crystals were 500 gil
                    Carbon fiber were 10k

Keep in mind though i bought all the silk cloths i could and made my own when the Ah ran out so i made approximately half of my cloths and bought half of them

Well, I barely took my exam in the Weaver's Guild and I'm only a recruit so...I have alot to do. Maintaining a craft is expensive ><
I use your guide and am still making Hachimaki's lol I'm afraid of starting to make linen threads.

Anyways, I like this guide and I've been using it since I started playing the game ^^ Thanks and good luck on supplying Vanadiel with clothes! If it weren't for us, everyone would be nakid 0_0 Ok, maybe that's out of proportion but.....yea

                      • man its so true after 60 the skill ups depend if your in the "zone"

Got to 64 and gonnna try battle bracers at 65 and see which costs more.... I acutally rather pay more if i can get more skill ups but w/e. So 72 is not a good level to start rainbow threads ?

                        Thanks to all who repsond

                        • Does anybody know where i can find black chocobo feathers? When Windurst was 1st in conquest, the chocobo stable had it... but now that Sandy is first, it's no longer available in windurst so i decided that maybe Sandy will have it. I go to the stables there and talk to the chocobo vendor outside stables, but he isn't sell it either. Any ideas?

                          • As far as I know the only other way si to dig them up on chocobo...which is not the best and most reliable way to get anything im afraid

Anyway thanks for this Post! Thanks to this info im about to lvl Clothcraft up to a point where it becomes usefull for Leatherworking to cut down on cost with thread/cloth materials.

No im off to go kill alot of yags and make thread

                            • Well if your home country loses 1st place in conquest try to get a ls mate or friend whos nation is in 1st place and ask them to buy the black chocobo feathers for you. With your money of course

Btw if you are having a friend or ls mate buying the feathers remember they can only buy it from the chocobo stands of the Nation 1st in conquest.

I also heard that race matters a bit for example if Windurst is 1st in conquest and you are not a tarutaru or mithra you cannot buy the black chocobo feathers even if you are a citizen of Windurst.

I am not sure however since I am a Windurstian taru and Windurst is usually 1st 50% of the time on my server

However for me black chocobo feathers are still a loss of money i lose like 7.5k worth of feathers per 6 synths because i buy a stack of feathers for around 13.5k and after changing the stack to fletchings i end up with 3 stacks of fletchings.

Each stack of fletchings sell for 2k so thats 6k money returned and this is selling through the AH though they sell realtively fast.

So 13.5k not including the wind crystals deducted by 6 k from money returned and i still lose 7.5k. This is not including failures. So in total with the crystals ill assume i lose around 9k without failures and prolly 10k with 1 failure.

My fame is probably around 7.

If you plan on going Black chocobo fletchings route from 68-72 and do not have a mule. I would reconmend you invest some time in doing gobbie bags 1-4 and have 1 or 2 mog safe quests done. You will be glad that you did it and there always useful anyhow. If you don't do these however prepare to spend a large amount of time selling and running back and fourth to AH and if your like me this prevents you from powercrafting since it takes up all your space

                              • Thank you Squall, if in fact i have to be sandorian to buy from sandoria while they are first in conquest, then at least the problem is solved.

Just to note, i play hume and was buying them from windurst while we were first.
