My level is only 7 so bear with me. I seem to pull up rusty buckets, leggings and caps all the time. I do notice that my current mog house has fishing enhancements (i got commodes because they were cheap). Is this the reason I keep pulling rusty items?

Re: Starting out Fisher...
most likely. there are 2 fishing moghancements. When you look in your key item, it will tell you exactly which one you have
- increases chance of catching items <-- most water base furnitures give this. including rusty buckets
- increases skill <--- very few expensive furnitures give thisThere are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Basically only two items: The (very expensive) furniture item "The Big One", which is hard to use due to its weak elemental affinity for water, and the 150,000 Fishing Guild Point item, "Fishing Hole Map".

Re: Starting out Fisher...
You could also switch the elemental alignment of your mog house furniture by putting in more furniture aligned to another element (Moghancement: Light from mannequins, for instance). That would rid you of Moghancement: Fishing/Items, at least.
The other painful option is to level Fishing to 68 and purchase the Fisherman's Apron, which reduces item catches while worn.

Be careful when fishing there - if you accidentally pull on a large bite (three "!!!"s and fast fishing music), you might pull up an Arrowwood Log, which will pretty much always break anything except a Composite Rod, Lu Shang's Fishing Rod, or Ebisu (and Composite sucks for catching moat carp, which is I assume why you're asking about that location in the first place).
It's otherwise a reasonable spot to get moat carp (the unlabelled ponds in Rolanberry Fields are better, and Dragon's Aery is the best if you can trust yourself not to pull up a level 73+ Demonic Pugil...)

Re: Starting out Fisher...
Surprisingly rusty sublinigers are worth a bit, in garuda there selling for an average of 5k each , rusty caps sellign for 1.5k each so don't throw them away.
Moat carp at the moment has fallen through the ceiling and on garusa is now only avaergaing 6k a stack.
when I fished for about a week in April (gave up as skill increase was slow and wanted some excitment of levelling up characters) moat carp was 10-12k a stack as you can see its alot cheaper now though on an up side good for people wanting Lu shangs rod.

Re: Starting out Fisher...
Thanks. Yes Insect paste works in Knightwell without trouble of pulling up rusty stuff.
One problem. I noticed that almost all my furnishings that give more than 2 spaces are water based. This gives off the mog enhancement for fishing. What can I do?
