    Re: Fatigue?

Okay, Japan is always GMT +9

DST started on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at 2:00 AM local standard time
DST ends on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 2:00 AM local daylight time

    Okay, we're after that date

EST is normally -5.. during DST we're -4.

    Now we are -4.

The difference between now and Japan is currently 13 hours. Durring non-DST it is 14 hours.

    Therefore now (EDT), 11pm + 13hr = 24 (12am Japan)
    During the rest of the year (EST) 10pm + 14hr = 24 (12am Japan)

I think you've got it backwards Ice, I was just trying to work it out here. Japan time is forward of us, not backwards. Let me know if you see somthing wrong with that.

    I freaking hate timezones....

      Re: Fatigue?

      Spring forward, Fall back.

During the spring we set our clocks 1 hour forward, so what WAS 10AM becomes 11AM. During the fall we set our clocks 1 hour back, so what WAS 11 AM becomes 10 AM.

We're currently in the "forward" part of that cycle, hence midnight JST is 11AM EST during spring and summer, while midnight JST is 10AM EDT during fall and winter.

        Re: Fatigue?

10AM only during Daylight Savings Time (Eastern Daylight Time/EDT).
11AM after clocks are adjusted back (Eastern STANDARD Time/EST).
Thats why this confused me. See? I worked it out fine, and you reposted it just fine...

Your math is all messed up. You're showing Midnight JST = 11PM Eastern which is off by 12 hours. Eastern Time is currently 13 hours behind Japan, which puts the reset timer at 11AM not PM.

            Re: Fatigue?

Fook, you're right. Still doesn't clear up my confusion.

            Therefore now (spring forward) (EDT), 11am + 13hr = 24 (12am Japan)
During the rest of the year (fall back) (EST) 10am + 14hr = 24 (12am Japan)
Bolded parts are what I changed. Still doesn't solve my confusion over your "set them back" remark. But then again, I had it right in my head earlier and still wrote down PM. Sad thing is I said 10am earlier in this thread.

            My brain wandered off.

              Re: Fatigue?

Ok, dinged lv16 Woot! Honest question.... Why does SE not put a little icon at the top of your screen when fatigued?

Let me see they do it:
-When you take to much meds
              -When you're weakend
              -Buffs/songs/dice rolls
              -Food
              -Signet

So why not just put a little fish Icon up there, and the description something like "You are unable to catch fish at this time"

                Re: Fatigue?

Maybe they have some strange theory about how it would effect people who bot if they put an icon up there, since it's something that the bot could detect? Hard to say since the fishing systems changes did seem to largely happen because of that. Though, imo, it's a lot more fun having to actually do something to bring the fish in. It definately feels like you have more control over everything.

Because it is usually fairly apparent when you are. You go from catching somthing 3 out of 4 or 5 out of 6 casts to not catching a thing, ever. You won't even catch items in my experience.

                  Its that obvious for me.

Ah thank you! I must not have been really fatigued yet then. I've never caught nothing, even after 4+ hours, I've always endend on a skill up catch. That way, I can't wait to get back the next day and try to get that lv I just got a .1 for.

And the bot program picking up on it, makes a lot of sence... crappy botters!! fooking everything up for us :/

                      Re: Fatigue?

I can't say if that's the reason or not, just a possible reason that came to mind when wondering the same thing.

But yes, when you are fully fatigued, it's pretty apparent, as you won't even get an item.

                        Re: Fatigue?

It has always taken me 5-6 hours to hit the hard fatigue point.

I would start at 10am (EST... 11am EDT ) right after the reset, and fish solid until 3:30pm or 4:00pm. Then I would stop catching anything.

It takes quite a while, and a good bit of determiniation. I did this for 2 weeks straight.

Yeah, I can count on one hand how many times I've hit that point, and it's always been when I did the ferry fishing marathons camping the pirates for my friend's clubs. It definately seemed to be an all day affair before hitting that point as well from what I can remember.

                            Re: Fatigue?

It usually takes at least 3-4 hours of solid fishing before you'll hit your fatigue limit. I've only managed to do it a few times.

Also note that when you start getting close to your fatigue limit (within around 20%), fishing battles become increasingly more difficult; the fish fight harder, and it becomes harder to wear them down.

I'm just giving an indication of how crazy I went when Moat Carp hit 20k/stack.

I hit the limit almost every weekday for two weeks. I almost went out of my mind.
