I was curious. 2 of the chocobos that I've bred, both had parents that were green. One chocobo turned out black the other yellow. I was wondering if anybody has tried to breed chocos that had a different colored parent than they turned out to be, and if they bred THOSE chocos and had the parents of that chocos color turn up in the 3rd generation offspring. I plan on breeding both of these birdies and hoping the 'green gene' pops back up. I just wondered in anyone had any information on this aspect of breeding.

Re: 3rd generation color breeding question
Do you know or can you determine the lineage of the two birds that you bred or were they ISNM/Quest/Flowershop eggs?
It's quite interesting that you got a Black and a Yellow. What dates did they go on (specific to each chocobo?)
I'm afraid I cannot actually answer this question as of now, but it does provide an interesting tidbit of information toward the genetics of chocobo color. All of my Red/Red 2nd Gen chocobos turned out Red.

Re: 3rd generation color breeding question
Just the way this game is, I think the color will never be 100%. I mean, even a 75 hitting level 1 rabbits you can only hit 95% accuracy max.
I have this 1 friend, got RedxRed parents but his chocobo turned out Green lol.
Currently my mule is raising a chocobo that I would say is 3rd gen.
1st >> NPC bought egg. Got yellow >> LuckyLucky
2nd >> Yellow (Lucky) + Red Mother >> Red child (Chocolate)
3rd >> Red (Chocolate) + Red >> LuckyAlpha. Still a baby but I really wish he grows into Red. He already inherits Canter from Chocolate.
Then I'll have Lucky(Female) + Alpha(male) for my next gen. Both are Red, both know Gallop and Canter. We'll see how it turns out.Last edited by Jei; 01-24-2007, 01:25 PM.There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
