  • Run away choco, how to get it back?

All right! Well I've come across a pretty ugly situation. I started raising a chocobo and then I took a small break from game and my choco was alright for a little bit and then just ran away. Its going on about day 8 and my choco still has not returned, however only options it gives me is to set up care schedual, ask about choco's condition, and get a choco card. Is there a trick to getting my choco back or a way to restart the raising process?

I knew it! I knew there must be a way to so abuse your choco that it leaves! XD Sorry, I have no idea how to answer your question, but I was wondering if this was even possible.

      [That's too bad.]

Sabaron sneaks back into his Mog House and calls the ASPCA.

      1. Do you have any new active quests?
      2. Does the handler say anything special?

Normally, you can choose "Give up Chocobo Raising". I've seen no information on run-away chocobos other than the fact that they can run away if treated poorly.

I suppose you'll just have to either continue to wait or call a GM and ask if it's a glitch that you can't select "Give Up Chocobo Raising".

Nope, handler just says your chocobo has run away. They don't give me an option to retire it, but that option was there before it ran away.

          interesting...

Due to unforseen circumstances i left my choco unattended for about a week (until yesterday) I half expected when i got back to have my chocobo at the very least highly grumpy, wanting a race, unwell, lovesick, and starving. I kinda expected him to have ran away. If he was in a bad way, and he hadn't ran away i was tempted to see if i could get him to, in the interest of science of course.
As it was i got back and he was fine, still liked me quite a lot too. He had been lovesick once, and ill once, but had recovered well, and even developed into the "now is the best time to develop your birds stats" stage, and gained a strength from one of the Exercise Alone plans i'd left programed in while i was away (he was mostly on basic care). He's in the form of his life.

Sorry i can't help, but i do have a question (to kinda keep this on topic). How did your choco feel towards you, what was it's affection, before you look your break?

I'm not quite sure what my affection was since I had just traded the egg then I took a month break once I got back it was in adolesent form already. I only know now that my regarding affection now is, it seems to not care about you at all. My chocobo is also very depressed.

I think you just have to keep asking about the chocobo's condition every RL day until it comes back. Did you have your care schedule set to something other than Basic Care?

ok well I just checked it again @12:07 pm EST. and it had returned Pulonono tells me now that "Afraid it's stopped caring about you now". When the chocobo came back it looks very sickly all huntched over. I have retired it now before it runs away again. Oh and I never set a care schedual for it so it was on basic the whole month I had left it.
