Re: My choco is HIGH a lot... what kind of grass HAS it been eating...?

My birds currently on day 60. I've never had it on anything other than the adolescent care plan "Exercise with others". Never really fed him any azophs, but he always loves to eat vomp carrots so I assumed he might be getting a tiny amount of affection from them. I usually send him on 1 or 2 long walks and a couple watch overs if theres energy to spare, and racing when he needs it.

In any case, I fed him a cupid worm a few days ago, and I've seen no negative change to any of his stats since, however he strangely seems to be in love again.

I even went so far as to feed him another just last night, and now his affection is back to "wants to be with you all the time". Still no negative change to any other stats, but I seem to be hovering in the "Better than average" range for endurance for the last several days. It might be having a slightly negative effect on it, but if it is, its not so noticeable as to be a severe drop.

I hear vomp carrots and zehgam carrots are excellant for chocobos, if you can afford them.

Yeah, if you feed your chocobo those carrots their stat seems to increase pretty rapidly if you're feeding 3 a day.

Duchesse and Solar can only very rarely pound down three carrots in one day. ^^ Most of the time they can only eat two things.

I always end up feeding 3 carrots a day, and he never seems to mind it. Howver, hes basically bloated by that point and will force down anything else you give him. Never had a stomachache though. Guess hes just a "growing boy"

I've been growing my own Vomp carrots quite nicely, which has made it a bit cheaper.
Oddly, the choco's favourite food suddenly changed (and I haven't been able to find out what the "new" fave might now be...). Wonder what this all means...
Anyway - my choco's Strength has gone up to Substandard (as of yesterday; haven't checked yet today). It's got an ill tempered personality. I think the theory with stats = personality definitely has something going for it.

hmm, after your chocobo has grown up and is ridable, do you need to still feed it and stuff? ....and say like.... if someone, not me of course, but a friend, you know, goes a couple weeks without even checking in on their chocobo... what would happen?

Technically, you don't ever have to feed it. I believe you can use Rest instead. However, feeding is better because it allows more direct care flexibility. You need to feed/rest your chocobo until you retire it.

Whatever care plan you have will keep going, chocobo will continue to loose affection, eventually it'll end up hungry, out of energy, fail at the care plans, and probably run away.

Correct, you wouldn't have to feed it. However Resting takes up more days to recover it's energy, when Resting the chocobo actually only recovers a small amount. From the looks of it, it's almost like Resting was made for if you know you won't be around for a few days then you set it to Rest. Kind of like a chocobo pause feature. Just the pause feature only gives you a max of 1 month. After that it'll continue with Basic Care and go down that path detailed above.
