  • Tips color

My newborn chocobo has red feather tips on the feathers on the back of his head. Is this normal? I thought they were supposed to be white (as I thought the general concensus was that all baby chocos look the same).

All baby chobobos do look the same. The feathers on their head have kindof orangy tips.

Taskmage is right, all baby chocos are essentially clones no matter what egg you hatch them from. Unless you're playing with a really odd color adjustment or strange Gamma Correction settings, you chick will look pretty much the same as everyone elses.

Now, adolescent chocobos are different. Here is where tip color plays a part. White tips will make a yellow choco, black tips make black, blue makes blue, and lord only knows what that blackish bodied, yellow tipped abomination model creates as an adult. Here's a hint though, adjust your gamma correction up before you check the adolescent's tips. There is no such thing as "greyish white or greyish black" tips. Either it'll look black when you up the gamma/brightness or it'll look white.

Side not, those two full black models were just a fill-in for the Red and Green. I just checked them after the update. Also seems they have changed my blue adolescent model to have more blue, perhaps to kill the confusion?
