Chocobo on the loose quest problem

Has anyone else had this problem?

I got my Choc license. I've retrieved the runaway choc, ran to Sandy, then back to jeuno. Brutus says to come back later.. I know I needed to wait one full in game day but I had to head off for the night as it was near 3am so I thought I'd log on this morning to finish up but there's no cutscene he was talks about being a beastmaster.

Have I just screwed up and robbed myself of getting a Choc egg now or what? Cause if I waited too long then that's gonna tick me off cause they should take into consideration people's work/school sheduals when programing the game.

I think you have to wait a day and then zone. Logging out right next to him doesn't count as zoning, unfortunately.

Yeah probably something stupid like that. But even if its not, you can buy the exact same egg he gives you from the mithra child near Ru'Lude AH for something like 1500 gil. Hardly a wallet burning amount, so no big loss.

Login out usually has worked as zoning for me though.

I'm just going by what others have encountered recently and from my own general experience.

Thanks folks.. I headed over to th gardens but haven't bought an egg yet..

I imagine you can have more than one personal choc but can only raise one at a time..

I know we have a color thread but has anyone come up with any ideas on which egg has a better chance of being a colored Choc?

Just curious (Loved the whole Choc breeding/racing thing from FF7)
