If you look at the "a bit warm" stats you see there are 65 yellow birds to 10 colored birds which makes it a 1 in 6.5 chance of a colored bird. If you look at the "a little warm" stats you see 5 yellow to 1 colored, which ends up as a 1 in 5 chance. So the difference isn't that noticeable, but the "little warm" appears to have better odds only because only 6 people have voted in those fields.
You can make the general assumption for now, but I wouldn't call it conclusive until we hear more from those groups.
Not calling it conclusive, hence the modifier I used at the begging of that post.

To also add I was mostly ignoring the results from "A little warm" since it has the smallest responces so far. Not to mention that I'm sure a great majority of people were working towards Strength and Endurance which would likely inrease the failure rate on "A little warm" to getting many yellows.

Ah, okay, guess I missed that. But yeah there's very little data for the ISNM eggs. I'd expect those eggs to be rare anyways, since you actually have to work to get them, so no doubt data for them is going to be sparse no matter how long you wait. Seems like most people wanted a "quick fix"

Personally though, I really don't really expect egg warmth to have anything more than a marginal effect on color over all. It'd just be too easy.

well this does say how many of us were to lazy to earn them for one and two how rare it is for someone to get the color they want with the bought eggs already
If you can ask your linkshell to do this because we need as many peeps as possible to vote

Well looking at it, can see it seems that the warmer the egg the better the chance of a colored. Even just looking at the bought ones you the warmer seems to have a better chance.

My chocobo turned out to be yellow, though kind of a dirty yellow, like he was rolling around in mud for a few days. I think the egg was slightly or faintly warm, but I can't remember which.

Adjust the gamma correction a bit... apparently you like playing in the dark. Making the game a little brighter should solve the weird color of your chocobo.

Or take the choco to the nearest Choco-wash.

It probably could but I'm so used to it by now that I think it would screw me up royally if I were to change it now. Anyway, other chocobos look the normal yellow so maybe mine is just a dirty little bastard.

I'm beginning to think that there is a general random seed for colours, irrespective to where you get your egg from/how you look after them.

I do think that the warmth might have some other significance and I do think that the care plans and feed alter stats, personality etc quite noticeably. Colour? Naah.

My suspicion, (and it's based entirely on my own random web searching, wild speculation, and the ramblings of my diseased imagination), is that eggs determine "breed". My further suspicion, is that we've all been horribly misusing the word "breed" as well. Bit Warm eggs are ungodly common, because that's the only egg Brutus gives as the quest reward. Since he created Rounseys for Jeuno, it would stand to reason that every Bit Warm egg is a purebred Rounsey. Which brings me to the uncomfortable conclusion that if someone breeds a black Choco from a Bit Warm egg, then breeds that choco with another black from the same type of egg, they should be congratulated for creating the first purebred black Rounsey. So far, we've been assuming every black bird was an automatic Destrier.
