Does anyone have any insight on the effects of this or possible cures? The first time my chocobo got it I set him to rest a day and it was gone when he woke up. Now he's got it again and I've tried pretty much everything but celerity salad to no avail. I've bred him with a friend's chocobo and taken him on walks to meet his npc chocobo friends, but 4 days later he's still hanging his head and munching weakly on his food.

Re: Lovesick status
Hmm... still going after you bred her, eh? That's odd. It's probably along the same lines as sickness and sleeping sickness though, it doesn't automatically come out of it when you administer the cure, (or sometimes whether you even bother trying to cure it), it just has a certain chance to come out of it.
What worked for me with mine was verbally threatening to make her listen to Ani DiFranco records, and then just ignoring her condition for the rest of the day. Worked like a charm for some reason, next day she was fine. Not sure how long yours will be lovesick, but it does wear off in time even if you do jack to cure it. While this'll probably mess with your training schedule somewhat, I'd still advise you to just let it go.

Re: Lovesick status
This one seems to be a stumper. I've bred mine off once, had her go on a date, sent her off to socialize through walks and plans, even tried a Cupid Worm (just a wild guess on that one), no avail.
So, what I did was to simply wait it out. It took about a week and a half, but she's completely cured of it now. I'm not too sure Love is treatable by any means other than a random amount of time.
Some people never recover from the side effects of the Love status effect IRL for vast periods of time, so I'm not surprised that it works the same way in a mini-game about raising a creature from birth to "retirement", however simplified it may be.

Re: Lovesick status
A week and a half huh? Ick. But touche on the irl love status. ^^
I have mine set to rest again to see if that gets rid of it. I'm not sure what, if any, negative effect the status has on the chocobo, but like melees that freak out when they get diseased status, I just want the bad thing to go away.

I did and my friend did. No more effect than anything else, just dropped affection a level.

Re: Lovesick status
I agree with LilithAngel. I'm sure the developers had that in mind when they coded this. If IRL you could end love sickness with say, I dunno, a pitcher of beer. Everyone would be so much happier out there ^_^
I'm guessing it just takes time, as IRL. Love is just another word for regret anyways!Omni@Remora: NIN75 RNG75 MNK75 COR75 BST64 BRD53

My male is a player. Lots of bochickawoowoo, no love-sickness (cross-fingers). Oh, what monster have I raised to treat females so cheaply? :angst:
Hmm... the only friends NightBreeze has are Spring and Air. Perhaps he needs to meet more chocos before the love-sickness kicks in?The last remaining evil white mage on Ramuh.

Re: Lovesick status
After about 4-6 days in lovesick state, Miracle Heart recovered, so I'd say my story meshes well with everyone else's.
So, it would seem that this is a natural stage in the chocobo development, and that thus far, there seems to be no cure.
Unless someone knows of a hidden 'socialize with true love' option I'm not seeing.Wevrain - Shiva

Re: Lovesick status
Duchesse Rose just got Lovesickness. The person who's chocobo she went on a date with said that mating cured his, so I'm hoping it works for Duchesse as well. Meanwhile, now I'm very interested in the chick from the egg. I mated her with a Black Chocobo (she's yellow) and took Sports plan hoping to inherit the father's traits and get a nice Endurance boost.
