You know looking up past info about the chocobo's and noticed that the Jeuno's Rounsey's are not the fastest chocobo's. The actual fast chocobo's are the Coursiers and can see it's obvious speed structure in the pictures.

So likely getting them will set you at speeds higher then what the rentals do.

Another question: Will we ever know what breed our chocos are? Must we guess based on color? For instance, in the initial release, I believe it was stated that Destriers can be black. Does that mean that any black choco is therefore a Destrier? I have a yellow choco, so will I ever know exactly which type my choco is?

Look at past info about the chocobo's they stated in it that the chocobo's apperance can change. So some chocobo's we raise can have thicker legs while others have thicker beaks or larger bodies. I noticed mine to have a fairly large body compared to other pictures of other players chocobo's I've seen, maybe I've been feeding it too much. >.>

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but chocbo whistles cost 1k per charge to recharge. Makes it ideal only in times where you might get aggro or have a fast bird, but otherwise rentals are the way to go.

1k sounds pretty appropriate, it's about the price that craig chocobo's often are at.

eh...? I've been hearing that it cost 2000 gil to recharge all 25 charges. That would be less than 100 gil per charge. Can someone else confirm or deny please? (My chocobo won't be an adult for 10 days.)

that is what I had figured and hoped for.

I'm so broke and saving up for my staves and spells that I've been walking to town from the crags

along with that its worth it for the convenience of being able to call it almost anywhere as opposed to having to go to a city or crag

One charge is one ride, you get 25 charges/rides per complete refill. If you use all 25, it will cost 25k to recharge. If you use 24, it will cost 24k, and so on...

My chocobo's stats are STR and END subst, DISC and REC poor. Perhaps these stats affect it in some way, I don't know.

Chances are the person who told you this had only used two charges on his whistle, and tried to recharge it to max.

That must've been the case (it was in someone's post on Alla actually). 1k per charge... Not a good deal on Pandemonium, unfortunately. Even the crags are usually under 300 gil and I hardly ever see the price over 700 gil. I was really hoping you were off by a decimal point. oh, well. I guess I won't be riding my chocobo unless I happen to not be WHM-ing.

Hmm, as a Taru in Windy, you'd think I'd be getting a Jennet no matter what, but my choc is definitely turning out Destrier black. Oddball chance I'm mistaken and she'll be blue, but them's black tailfeathers...
