Hi I am new to this site and I am wondering if we have a thread for all the food needed for the chocco,where to get it,how to make it,you know what I mean!
If not why not give info here,I would like to know myself as I am getting headaches trying to find the answers.

The Chocoboy at any stable explains food pretty well. A quick search on any of the items on somepage will show you how it is made or how is it grown(gardening).

You get the seeds from the port in Al Zahbi (you don't even have to exit into town). If you can't get to Aht Urghan yet, you'll have to make due with the (probably insanely overpriced) ones you can buy off the AH. In my 3 weeks or whatever it's been since the seeds came out, I've found that it is fairly difficult to grow the special worms. Some pedantic tweaking ala Elemental ores will probably be necessary to maximize the product yield, but other than that the green stuff is easy.

for chicks, just 1 or 2 ghysal greens per real life day is sufficient

the real food tweaking will come as they get older

Yesterday I harvested 15 Tokopekko Wildgrass from one seed (water crystal, if you're interested in growing your own). Wildgrass seems to take about 3 earth days from planting to feeding time, then 3-4 more to maturity depending on crystal. I'm now splitting it up among my mules trying to sell as much as possible before the bottom drops out of the market - at current prices that's half a million gil of harvest from a <400 gil seed, and less than a week growing time.

Obviously, that's a completely insane price level - I expect it to fall at least 90% in the next month, possibly more. In the long term, yields are comparable to rice from a cheaper seed, so it's hard to imagine the stable price being any higher (on the demand side, chocobos need only one or two foods per Earth day, compared to many players' voracious appetite for sushi).

So: if you have any flowerpots, plant wildgrass now, and try to cash in before the market settles down. If you don't have any flowerpots, use expensive food sparingly or not at all unless you don't mind wasting a lot of gil.

I have been giving my chocobo 3 vomp carrots a day for 3 days now nad just harvested 11 more, maybe this will increase my chance of it turning black on me!

Think PiNG is still working on the new Forum, probably hasn't put it back in yet. Then also having to work on preventing hackers.

I just have to say this and get it off my chest.

I can understand players trying to make a good hunk of gil off the current chocobo feed market, but some of the prices I've seen for stuff is just outrageous. I don't know ANYONE who can feed their bird on 2-500k a DAY.

So to those who are trying to rip me off, I say GO SCREW - I'm growing AND synthing my own damn food now, and I'm making enough to feed my entire linkshell's population of chocochicks.
