I have been wondering because at first I was pretty sure that if you followed a guide that you would save money. Then I was told by a LS mate who is a lvl 75 woodworker that she did not follow a guide and spent no more then 100k getting to 75. I'm just curious on whether other ppl have used a guide or have done the same as my LS friend and have gotten to a pretty decent lvl using a very low amount of gil...she also said that she did farm some but mostly just bought cheap materials and crafted what she thought she could skill up on. Lol, to me that sounds kinda exspensive but that's why I'm posting this to see what others have to say.

Re: Crafting guide or No guide?
Personally, I prefer to look at the list of items for that craft, and try and find things that are only a few points above your current skill level, and that you can (hopefully) buy from NPCs, or really really cheaply on the AH. That way, you aren't spending a ton of money, and you aren't breaking nearly as often as people who aim for items that will last a 10 point stretch.
Oh, and if you can find items that use things you can already make (or will make during your progression)? Even better.
I've always preferred that to following someone else's guide.

Re: Crafting guide or No guide?
WW is one of if not THE easiest crafts to level, because u can make Arrows and all ingredients stack up to 99 (except for lumbers). This only works up until around 75 however, where after that there is a HUGE plunge of gil loss with any syths. If u manage lvl 100WW tho, ur gonna be quite rich from those dam HQ elemental staffs ^_^
I'm 73 WW btwSome exp > no exp
