OK, for months I've idled on two crafts between two characters. My Taru, Foobar was destined to be the main and a cook. My Mithra, Omgwtfbbqkitten, was destined to purely a bonecraft mule that would one day make Scorpion Harnesses for Foobar and other stuff.
Somewhere along the way, I started levelling Kitten and Foobar ceased to be a main. And then I started to prioritize Kitten for mostly consumable jobs such as RNG, COR and NIN. Foobar is still active, but seldom played. When I do play him its generally BST or BRD now. I currently consider COR, RNG and BST to be the jobs I'm dedicated to being main jobs between the two characters.
Bonecraft is at 56 on Kitten. Most other crafts are pre-10.
Foobar is a 52 Cook, with 22 in Woodworking and 22 in Alchemy.
COR is the main "main" for Kitten and the consumable I use most is iron bullets, so I don't think I'd have to abandon my Bonecrafting in favor of making them. The Recipie for iron bullets requires 22 Smithing and 45 alchemy, which I'd work to HQ levels without having to give up bonecraft. I could continue to work up Bonecraft and likely reap profits from Reraise Gorgets and such, as well as excess bullets made for COR.
As for Foobar, being a BST, it would benefit me to maintain cooking for food that not only compliments my soloing, but allows me to make my jug pets. However, Kitten's RNG being in that 60+ territory, I could also opt to persue Woodworking for bolts and Arrows. However, RNG is at the level of using Demon Arrows and Silver Bullets, both of which I'm told don't HQ and are my primary ammo. I haven't looked up the various bolts I currently use, so I don't know the HQ rates on those. I suppose since I'm also considering NIN for kitten, so Woodworking would keep her supplied with shehei.
So the crafting path for Kitten is pretty cut and dry, its Foobar I'm at odds with. Level the crafts that favor Kitten or level a craft that favors Foobar. Kitten gets the lionshare of play time, so I'm inclined to prioritize Foobar's crafting toward her. Still, I feel like, Courrier Carrie notwithstanding, I could lose out on HQing some of the high end jug pets if I gave up Cooking on Foobar.
So... any advice here?
