  • "Cost" of image support in Al Zhabi?

I was preparing to do some profit cooking in Al Zhabi tonight. I knew I needed image support to break an HQ Tier, so I went to the Culinary guild representative there. When I chose to receive Advanced Image Support, the NPC told me that I would first have to spend an Imperial Bronze Piece first.

So my question is this. Do I have to pay a Bronze Piece every time that I want to get advanced support? Or is this a first-time fee, after which I have to pay some amount of gil related to my crafting rank?

1 bronze imperial piece every single time you use it.

ouch. That sucks. Guess I'll save up some GP for a cooking belt. Or just stick with the basis image support (if I don't need the full +3 that is).

1 bronze is only 20 points tho. And there are many good resources you can buy around al zahbi.
Right now I have no real use of my standing points anymore... 1 PT I got like 4,000 points. I traded and sold tons of bronze/gold currency just because I don't know what to do with the points....

Did you buy all the maps from the sanction guy? He also has some other decent items for sale. It doesn't hurt to keep some IS on hand so that you can get the sanction refresh, very useful.

I'm currently using my IS to buy bronze pieces for synthesis support and to keep my mog locker open. I don't get much, and I don't need much.

Re: "Cost" of image support in Al Zhabi?

Maybe once I start partying in ToAU zones with sanction on, I'll change my mind. But I barely have time to craft right now due to an active personal life. So the only Bronze Coins I have are ones that were rewards from various quests.

Not to mention that my inventory space is being utilized 100% these days just from craftings. I suppose I could buy some Bronze Coins, pay for Mog Locker, and store the coins themselves in the locker until they are needed. But that's still going to require anywhere from 2k to 4k per Bronze Coin (current market price on Lakshmi).

On a semi-related note, does anyone know if the advanced image support offered by these NPCs has been tested and verified to be +3?

yes I have all maps and the 5 haste turban already. Points are really easy to come by if you PT in the new zone The least amount of EXP I'm getting in the new zone is around 20,000/3hour.

Yeah, building the Imperial Standing points in the new zone with sanction is incredibly fast. Which basically suggests they are planning you to be using them a lot for something, what though probably isn't all implimented yet. Right now though if you are always keeping your mog locker open that'll drain out some. Can imagine that they might make the coins part of the whole chocobo breeding, like the guy there will only sell you the food or whatever for your chocobo for the coins.

Re: "Cost" of image support in Al Zhabi?

FYI, I tested the two types of support offered by Al Zhabi guild NPCs. The basic image support (which is free) gives +1 skill, while the advanced image support (the one that costs 1 Bronze Piece) gives +3 skill.

That would not be a good idea. Once your locker lease expires, you won't have access to the bronze coins you need to extend the lease unless you were anal about timing your lease.

Re: "Cost" of image support in Al Zhabi?

Well, I was thinking about keeping a large number of coins in the locker, and then buying 1 coin from the AH to gain access to it. I could then use the coins from the locker for image support.

Until recently, I had almost all of my subjob gear on one of my mules. I hate transferring 16 to 24 items via delivery box, which has effectively dissuaded me from switching casually to stuff like finishing subs or leveling BST. But as it turns out, the 50 slots in the mog locker (once you pay for the 2 upgrades) works very nicely for storing subjob gear.

And with the next update, we'll be able to access the mog locker from outside Al Zhabi. I've heard you can get some IS for participating in Beseiged. I'll have to give it a try one of these days, so I can get some more Bronze Coins.
