  • spaghetti is great

if you haven't gotten the key item to make spaghetti start working on it because it will be worth it in the long run.

    Boscaiola is
HP +18% (Cap: 120@666 Base HP)
    MP +35
    Strength -5
    Dexterity -2
    Vitality +2
    Mind +4
    MP Regeneration While Healing +1

new WHM food, also will work for RDM that needs MND. healing mp bonus, mp +35, mnd +4 will make this a nice alternative to mushroom food, and that little hp bonus doesn't hurt.

    Carbonara is
HP +14% (Cap: 175@1249 Base HP)
    MP +10
    Strength +4
    Vitality +2
    Intelligence -3
Attack +18% (Cap: 65@361 Base Attack)
    Store TP +4

this will last anywhere from the low 20s to low 60s for any melee job other than ranger. sales have really picked up on this item. Carbanora is starting to pick up in sales on remora, it has moderate turnover but sells for a bit of gil. its more for your spirits within food as you get HP bonus, and the attack bonus doesn't hurt at all.

Vongole Rosso is a tank food for low levels and is actually better than boiled crayfish, with HP bonus built in. this will get you through valkrum dunes.
HP +17% (Cap: 90@529 Base HP)
    Vitality +2
    Mind -1
Defense +25% (Cap: 30@120 Base Defense)
    Store TP +6

actually noodle kneadling is worth to have. some of the new foods have some promise.

Boscaiola is prohibitively expensive to make. While it's nice, it's not nice enough to justify the use of king truffles for a food that's marginally better (if that) than a 4K stack of roast mushrooms.

Carbonara is great stuff. I make it for high level ninjas and paladins who need to tank stuff that hits really hard. 150 extra HPs goes a long way towards keeping tanks alive, especially against enemies that use a lot of high powered magic attacks like Kirin.

I really wanted to like vongole rosso. Tested it for a while, and although it's "ok", it's too expensive to make, and not good enough to justify the annoyance of acquiring vongola clams (I fished 2 stacks of these to experiment with, but if I didn't have a Lu shang's fishing rod and very high fishing skill, I cannot imagine trying to acquire them otherwise).

Pescatora is actually the best of the new foods. Outrageously expensive to make, but definitely one of the best tank foods in the game.

i tried out vongole rosso recently. it really sucks after you get into the late teens-low 20s in your job level. boiled crab is better and cheaper. Pescatora is much better in tank food but i haven't gotten the stats. What i don't like about Pescatora, though, is the fact it takes 4 different fishes and 3 of them don't stack.

the new whm food is a bit high on price and mushroom stew still blows it away, but its really nice for certain fights where you could use all the HP as you can get. also keep in mind that mushroom stew also takes king truffle.

Carbonara is amazing. I have known cooks that admitted that they can't seem to make enough of this. The worst part is just getting buffalo jerky and buffalo meat is only 3k to 4k higher than cockatrice meat if you buy in singles. It only needs journeyman cooking skill.
