Fishing is screwed up or atleast on midgard

Okay im lvl 30 in fishing and after the update my fish wont sell. It seems that the AH are being flooded now that everyone is geting into. I was fishing moat carps and im not sure if i should go to nebs or not any input?

I know quite a few people in my LS have just taken up fishing too, so you can bet a lot of others have as well.

i noticed sandy had 105 stacks of moats. something ive never seen, an also i seen tem drop from 5k, to 4k. soon to go even lower id imagine. add in the npcs buying fish for jack crap. look for the fish market to be flooded,,

I'm on Alexander and have noticed the same thing. It doesn't seem as bad here as it does on your server. I was fishing in Windurst, some reason I couldn't catch moat carps worth crap. Went back to Sandy where they are easy to catch, now at level 11.

I started before the patch, I enjoyed it. But I enjoy it even more now, b/c of the patch. You are more involved in what you catch and it is less easy to break your rod, as long as you pay attention.

Of course tons of people are going to start up fishing b/c of the patch. But, I bet most of the people will get bored with it after a while and quit.

I'm stopping logging all together, until I can safely log at higher level places. I quit FFXI a few months ago, when Elm logs whent for 4k. I come back and they are selling for 12k!! 12 freaking K!! It used to be fairly peacefull logging at Ghelsba Outpost, not anymore.

Nobody show any respect to each other. If I get to a LP first, about 5 people hang around me like vultures, hoping that I mess up so they can get the log. If someone gets to a LP before me, I leave them and find another LP.

I have an advantage over most computer players. I play with a playstation like controller. I use the direction pad to move the cursor to find LP's. Kinda like pressing the "0" button. But, I just have to hold the pad down and I can find a LP really far away from me. So, i make sure that i show people respect, but ummm....yeah....lol

yeah, i think it is really simple to do fishing now. You just need to know how to do it. I'm trying to make it a point to read all the update information now, never really did before, lol.

Then you won't be running around trying to get someone to tell you what has changed and how to do other certain things. I had some LS friends start fishing without reading any info on it. One guy lost 3 or so Sabiki Rigs on something really easy, and lost an expensive rod too.

That goes to show you that, unless you are rich, you need to read the update info lol.

nebs is not worth it anymore, the price of it keeps on dropping everyday. It's now at a low of 8k on my server. Wonder how much other servers are selling nowadays.
A good thing tho is that Grimms now sell for 4k on the AH and people buys it all the time.

Yeah, fishing prices have dropped a ton. Kinda disappointing since I had gotten my Lu Shang's a month before the patch, and raw fish handling just recently. Still, nowing what to fish for money, and what to fish for skill ups are now pretty much two separate things. Seems like everybody and their grandmother went after nebs, and any sushi fish.

I think this is a phase and it will pass in a couple months, a lot of people wanted to try the new system, And have done so, Myself included. I mostly just fish at the ports while waiting on airship...

But I think the fadism of the new system will pass and the prices will return to normal, and only the hardcore fishermen will keep at it. Just give it time and things will be normal.

Moat Carp are down to 3k on midgard. I don't think the fishing economy is all that effected considering you (or at least I) catch twice as many as before. So for every 4k-6k a stack you used to get you now sell 6k worth. At 10 fishing (and full fishing armor) I can catch Moat Carp all day long in port sandy with a mithran rod and insect paste. Oddly enough I never see anyone fishing in n. sandy and only like 5 people in p. sandy (including me). I usually fish around 3am-6am Central US time, so that could be why I don't see anyone fishing. My fish usually sell within 5 minutes of putting them up on AH as well.
