  • where to break clothpoles?

    Currently I'm breaking them on the ferry with meatballs. averaging maybe 1-3 a trip, 4-5 if i'm lucky...

    Is there a place where I can break them more easily?

      Without high level fishing, it's hard to break any poles consistently.

        i guess i'll have to settle with breaking them randomly on the ship then.

        Good news is that my fishing went from 20-22.8 since i started breaking poles... nice bonus.

          You can skill pretty fast on fishing while breaking poles and synthing them. But at your level fishing, you are doing the equivalent of xp'ing in Kuftal when you should be in dunes ;;

          Rundown of bait for Ferry and the fish that will break rods for you:

          Bait Fish Level min/max
          Sliced Sardine Gugru Tuna 26/41
          Sliced Bluetail Bhefhel Marlin 46/61
          Meatball Ryugu Titan 85/100

          You have a chance to snag any fish in the groupings at any level but you have a much greater chance when fishing something more in your 'range'. I would suggest buying sliced sardines (or making your own with 11 cap cooking, 1 sardine + 1 wind crystal = 2 slices)

          It is a slow process to break rods and if you can break 3-5 clothespoles per trip that is very good. Full moon in about 7 hours from now. Grab 20 poles and go fishing!

            unfortunately i can't revolve my time around full moons so I'll just have to make do with what I got when i log on. ^^

            I'll try the sardines when I get back, but they also seem much more expensive than meatballs. (400 gil a stack for meatballs).

            fishing at 24.3 now. wee! :p
