  • Mandibular Sickle

Wind Crystal + Darksteel Ignot + Ebony Lumber + Ram Leathers + Antillion Jaw

But i have no clue what crafts you need to make it...

  • #2
Typically you need the levels around the cap areas of the ingredients. Safest in this case would be something like:

    Darksteel Ignot - Blacksmithing 53
    Ebony Lumber - Woodworking 61
    Ram Leathers - Leathercraft 35
    Antillion Jaw - Bonecraft ??

Given that it is created with a Wind Crystal, it would either be Woodworking, or Bonecraft [<- Most likely].

(Antlion Jaw is a raw component.)

I don't know, though, the skill cap of it.

Wind Crystals could also be gold smithing ...... considering u make PLENTY of equpt. with wind crystals and u need a drk steal ingot
Every dead body that is not exterminated, gets up and kills. The people it kills, get
          up and kill.

I got the Madibular Sickle.... Its not really that useful for Black Mage. I can hit like 20 with it and with my Dark Staff I can hit like 17. Of course my skill with Scythes aren't capped but I still think its more for looks over function.

unless you have the dynamis staff or kirin's pole, the mandibular sickle is the strongest weapon a blm can weild...and its only lvl 48! i recall reading in the updates that SE was adding scythes not just a scythe...so where are the others?

with scythe skill at 80, a critical hit from the mandibular scythe deals more damage than my mahogany pole +1 on sabertooth tigers in batallia. regular hits average about 50-60 damage with 80 skill, but the critical hits show the damage potential of the scythe. note that my staff skill is 205. i'd imagine that with near max skill, the mandibular scythe would probably own, at least for farming if you still do so.

edit: in the end though, i like the staff ws much more than scythe ws. full swing seems stronger than vorpal scythe also...

I'd imagine that our Shadow of Death would actually be decent, since it's INT based, as I recall...

Alot of the scythe WS's are also INT and MND based (OMG USELESS AF!!!!1111oneoneone), so I can see why we would need it.. but it's not really our strongest weapon. With a rating of E, I would probably do better with Full Swing. Once I get Spirit Taker then nothing will keep me away from a staff. XD

I posted my comment in BLM forum.

I was very dissapointed with scythe, I knew it was gonna suck, but not that badly.

I have my scythe capped at lvl 61(190+i think), from raising bst, and my staff is not capped.. i think its lvl 167.

Scythe would hit for like 30, staff would hit for about 90.

scythe ws 150+, staff ws 400+

Umm.. plus scythe is slow and i can get more hits in with staff.

Plus its also a lower lvl scythe with a lower damage rating..

Yeaahhh.. needless to say i wont be buying one till its ~7k

scythe cap for 61 is 172. what are you trying your weapons out on? most of the too weak crap i fight, the scythe is almost as strong as my staff, but only because they're like level 30 (the mobs). while staff does 90-130, scythe does 60-90. still only 80 skill . there's no way your scythe will do less damage if your skill is higher than staff skill because the scythe's damage rating is way higher than any staff you have available at lvl 61. in fact, its stronger than kirin's pole (60D). only the claustrum is stronger than that scythe (72D). still, the scythe WS sucks.

at 61, i'm pretty sure the strongest staff you can have is mahogany pole +1 (lvl 59, 52D). a full 15 points lower than the scythe. slightly off topic, anybody know where that mercurial pole comes from? i want it for skilling up.

when i checked the decription for Shadow of Death n-game AND in bradly game strat. ( which suxx) it says Deals Shadow dmg to the enemy - dmg depends on TP (roughly said) has anyone actually proven that the WS is INT based :?

i dunno, but there has to be a reason its the strongest of the 3 ws i have right now (slice, shadow of death, nightmare scythe). it does like 200 or so @ 100%. nightmare scythe and slice doesn't even come close...still, my staff does way more
