Help me Get Steel Ingots

ok the three ways I know of getting steel ingots are desynthing (goblin helms), synthing iron ingots for HQ, and buying them.
if my smithing skill is at 34, which should i do?
goblin helms cost like 900 on my server, iron ingots cost ~500, and steel ingots go for 51k/stack

if i want to desynth, should i do it on lightningsday or darksday?
if i want HQ iron, should i do it on firesday or darksday?

in my experience... i would desynth because you can make profit from it. I usually get more steel out of desynth than iron weird ^^.
