I've been trying to reach lv20 in skill so I can make my own arrows, and Maple sugar isnt working for me, usually I get 24 breaks and then maybe a 0.1 skill up.I was told by a friend to try logging jugner but I'm not sure whether as a 30 thief/war that I'd survive long in there.Could someone advise me on this?

Get your skill up a little further, 15 or 16 should be sufficient.
(I started sugar at 15 with a low fail rate)
To get your skill up you can do bolts or maple tables.
I did venom bolts myself, (small profit on Midgarsormr selling to AH) but if your economy doesn't make bolts cost-effective you
can try maple tables. Don't expect to sell them at the AH, but they're cheap to make. Boomerangs look like a cheap option, as well.
