I am currently i lv 27 fisher with a composite rod fishing in zeruhn for moat carp. Growing tired of the same thing i set out for a new fish to catch. In the AH i gazed upon the white hard shell of the nebimonite. Then i was awed at the 12k reward for these little critters. My problem is that i cant decide what is the easiest way to catch them. I went onto the ferry and fished there but my rod jsut broke in the water. Should i go to the sea serpent grotto? I cant fish effectively if my rod keeps breaking and i cant fix it. I could sure use some help on how to fix my nebo prblem.

I used mithran rod or comp rod with crayfish ball. Shrimp lure will catch Gugru Tuna, Noble Lady, and Ryugu Titan which can break any rod (actually how I broke my mithran rod). Crayfish Ball will only catch Nebomite and items on occassion.

>Composite OR Mithran + Shrimp Lure OR Crayfish Ball on the Ferry/SSG will be able to net you these.
They cap at 27
You make it sound so easy.
First off, nebi are terrible fish to level off on. You wont be getting many. To fish in SSG you need a level 59+ job to fish safely, and a really high one or many friends to beat the 70~ stagien pugil that you can get while fishing.
Boat fishing is pretty much your only way to go. But you'll need sneak to fish safely during pirates/horror etc etc. In edition, youll be stuck to just crayfish paste there cause other bait will break your rod. I recomend leveling elsewhere~ too lazy to look up where thoughKuno's super cool stats!

I suggest skilling up your fishing before you go after Nebimonites. They have a rather bad bite rate, even twenty levels above their cap (30). I use Carbon Rod and Crayfish Paste for fishing Nebimonites on the boat. They won't snap the rod but the rare Rusty Subligar will. I've broken one Carbon Rod in my countless hours of neb fishing on the ferry.
Shrimp Lure will also hook Gugru Tuna and Noble Lady, both of which can snap a composite. Tuna are nefarious rod snappers. So if you plan to use a Shrimp Lure, learn the sweat trick.

What skill level can i start catching Nebimonites? Will 10 be enough to catch a few with crayfish ball and Composite rod?
What is the best place to catch them? Sea Serpent Grotto? I'm almost lvl 59, and I wont be able to beat a lvl 70 Pug, but I can escape. Depending on where I fish, I shouldnt get aggro.
If I go on boat, theres always the risk of catching Sea Horror ><; Dangers seem to lurk everywhere...FFXIV: ARR - Leviathan Server - 50 Bard, 47 Dragoon, 50 All crafts, 48 Botany, 48 Miner

You cant fish up the sea horror. However you can fish on the stairs, and you cant get monsters there. As said before, Nebs dont bite too often, so if you have less then the skill for them, you probably wont get too many.Kuno's super cool stats!
