you could easily get woodworking to level 80 or 90 with 1 million gil if your smart... that said, however, woodworking is not a very good guild... If you want to level a gil that will make you some good money, but cost a lot, try goldsmithing.. you can probably get to level 30-40 with 1 million, and then use your skill to make more money that you can use to level some more. It'll be slow, but its worth it. Boneworking and Clothing are also really good high level... actually all the guilds but cooking and woodworking are like super money makers.

If you can make your own elemental stones (their proper name allludes me at the time), I guess you can make some cash off woodworking.

Don't count on it if you buy them from the AH. I don't know about Titan but on Phoenix some of those stones cost more than the staves that they make 0.o;

um... no? Staves are NOT a super money maker. You need to be at, or around, level 100 woodworking to even have a minimal chance at making one. I watch super high level crafters fail at making HQ 20 synths in a row.... and guess what, making non-HQ staves you will LOSE up to 50-100k (on bahamut at least). And the HQ staves will only net you a 200-300k profit.... while the HQ earth staff, though very few people buy it, will net around 1 million profit. This is tiny compared to the profit OTHER guilds can make you once you hit 100 in those guilds (or in the case of gold smithing, you can be raking in the dough at like level 60 or 70).

Thats so true! >.< I was so happy when I found out I could make my own staves.. then I checked the AH. -.-;;;; Ice Ore goes for 90k, Ice Gem goes for 300k, and an Ice Staff goes for 100k. hurray for the economy.
